Wouldn't people spend more money if the game was in complete balance?
So why not _properly _ balance the game?
So why not _properly _ balance the game?
Honestly, they wouldn't. Complete balance winds up boring after awhile, since there's little to no change. Having imbalance, that changes frequently keeps things interesting, despite how much people complain on the forums about it.
On top of that, whatever's strong at the time will result in more champ/skin purchases for said strong things. So rotating out what is and isn't strong means more money.
Balance winds up boring BUT so does unfair gameplay.
I am the most critical of the Balance and Champ Up team. I have called them imbeciles, morons, Red named idiots . . . . and even said they don't care. It comes off as the Balance and Champ Up team do not care. I have never played a game where it is THIS bad . . . and I played DCUO for three years. DCUO compared to this game . . . . walk in the park. I cannot comprehend why they are wasting time on champions that don't need work . . . . over other ones. I cannot comprehend how they can allow broken items, masteries, mechanics, kits, and other things GO ON TO LIVE and not FIX IT FOR WEEKS . . . . TO MONTHS . . . TO YEARS. This season in particular is VERY bad. Riot has changed way too much in such a short amount of time. The entire game has shifted to who can play the best ADC in every lane . . . . with broken items that shouldn't be used on them. It has taken Riot four months to nerf Maw. It took Riot three months to nerf Devour and Rage Blade. It has taken Riot one month to nerf the ridiculous changes they made to Xin.
There are no new AP items . . . yet ADC and AD champions have such an assortment of items to choose from for different types of situations. There is no REAL AP mastery that benefits AP champions. There are MANY AP champions with bland, outdated, common, boring, and weak kits . . . . and they spend three months buffing Zed and implementing a new item that is a Zed ult.
You see Riot's trend with this season? They don't think things through, don't listen to player feedback, and prioritize the wrong things in patches and updates.
I have a LITTLE sympathy for them because it seems like they have such a small group of game developers that need to do a lot of work. What I do not have sympathy for is stupidity they do not think about before putting it on to the live servers. There are too many champions, Riot needs to allocate the champion concept team into helping them update current champion kits, mechanics and builds so they can prosper in the game now. I am going to say there are A LOT of good ideas by the champion concept team . .. . but there are far to many champion in the game now . . . . at the expense of older ones looking old, boring, weak, and outdated.
The thing is, that's not possible. There are champions and counters to those champions. Riot makes sure that there is a meta for a while, but the meta will shift when they introduce new elements. Not to mention, some things do not seem balanced between divisions. Someone in Bronze, for instance, will think that, say, Talon is broken. They see his ultimate is a big escape, you just can't get away from him, and his burst while you're slowed is too much to survive, he's broken.
But someone in, say, diamond will probably take cleanse, tailor their build to bite Talon in the ASS, and then say, "Talon? Yeah, he's alright."
Riot's balance team has a tall order every patch. They have to balance the normal game to make it feel fair on a low level, but also every tier in between, all the way up to literal professionals. Tweak some numbers just a little too high, that's all you'll see in the top tier. Take the numbers down a little too much to counter picks of the meta, and you totally make that meta dominate the professional scene, which is boring.
They don't purposely keep this game from being balanced; it's just impossible to achieve in a sense with a game like League.
Rito could give me money to buy rp and I wouldn't spend it on rp
