Plat? Welcome to Elo hell. Where the players are good enough that you can't curb stomp them every time, and you'll always get that one guy who was boosted on your team and he'll feed his ass off.
Similar thing in Silver, but instead of boosted, they are just people who deserve bronze, but were carried hard by teammates
Well the difference being that Bronze is only one tier away from Silver, versus three from Platinum.
Getting a player who deserves to be in Bronze on your Silver team sucks, but getting a player who deserves to be in Bronze on your Platinum team, and you really feel like you got cheated.
Still it makes it incredibly hard to play when you have 3 really good players and 7 really bad players... The game is decided on which team has the majority of the 3... In Plat im sure its hard to carry someone like that since the enemy knows how to capitalize on that baddie, in Silver no one is good enough to know anything except for the smurfs or people stuck in Silver...
Don't forget the people that think there's nothing to learn between Platinum and Diamond, so they think you making the smallest mistake is you "holding them back from the rank they deserve."
Damn nice! Wish I was that high... Oh wait... is unranked still Yeah I plan on getting something this year... EVEN IF ITS BRONZE! I DON"T CARE! If I do get Bronze... I CAN ONLY IMPROVE! thinking positive
Why is there such a stigma with bronze? Being bronze makes you no less of a person than the next. The way I see it is:
If you're bronze, you get to climb more than others, and I value someone who has climbed through bronze, than one who claims they never had to be in Bronze.
I have nothing against being/getting bronze honestly! I kinda see it as: I have more room to improve then someone higher then me! That kinda sounded better in my head now that I think about it... Anyways it just wouldn't surprise me honestly considering my stats (or at least from my perspective?), I know I'm not great but I'm not horrid either.
http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Bow%20hunter%2016 (ignore the bot games I usually do those to practice a new/difficult champion or just for a quick win of the day since I got such a wonky work schedule)
Climbing through Bronze isn't worth shit. You probably don't even remember what it's like. They can't do anything. They can't take towers. They can't build right. They feed 10 kills a game, usually more than they get kills, and 2-3 cs/minute regardless of what champion they're on.
Sometimes it's as easy as bots.
I remember it crystal clear. Season 4, I got Silver and decayed (back when elo decay was a thing) into Bronze on two accounts, and climbed out of them both.
Trust me, certain people don't belong in bronze, and they make it apparent when they're an outlier.
Elo decay is still a thing, it just only affects plats and above
I guess I should have said it's no longer a thing for gold and under

Why is there such a stigma with bronze?
that's because that's where people get screwed. It becomes less a game of skill and more of a game of "how many high elo smurfs are on each team VS how many new and inexperienced people are on each team"
and that alone will decide whether or not you will actually break through and hit silver. And even then, low silver still carries the same potential risk until the inexperienced/new players and smurfs get filtered out and you REALLY start playing with players that are around your own skill lvl and then you can see if you can improve your own skills to climb after that.
Climbing out of Bronze is rough, but it's far from impossible. Me and my pal duoed and got out of Bronze within a month, and suddenly began racing up the ladder in Silver. As of now i'm Silver I and inching Gold V, just by playing champions I can carry / do well with and not feeding.
As long as you don't feed, you're likely to win unless your team brings you down. But even then, if you're skilled you can perhaps carry them if they stop making repeated mistakes. If you need help with ranked let me know and I can Jungle Vi for ya :)
That's it mate! Use their insults as motivation to kick ass. Now get your ass to Diamond real quick. That shiny border's waiting for you. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
You will never get past platinum.
Inb4 diamond
Motivation is all you need. I got demoted from Gold 1 and I was so let down, thank God I didn't give up.
"NoFluxes: report sona"
You will never get past Challenger Kappa
You will never get past Challenger Kappa
Um... Bronze>Challanger.... Ok then. I'm already past Challanger.
XDD
LCS here I come!!!
You'll never get past LCS
Korea here I come!!!
Can I be that asshole? Ok I'll be that asshole.
Out of all the game to get promoted to Plat in, it would be a game you got carried. Lowest Lv in the game on a winning team is hard to do ;)
Sorry I just had to point that out.
Goodjob though man, I think you can make Diamond with that win rate!
......he was the Support

You're being cheeky/sarcastic, but if you weren't, you'd actually be on to something.
In my recent smurfing adventures, what I've come to understand is that people in low ELO don't understand that they don't need to carry every game. They think that one lane is going to get fed and decide the game, and thatthey have to be that lane, so they keep trying to outplay even when behind.
Sometimes you can get fed and carry. Other times you're going to be the guy feeding. When you give up first blood, you need to know how to stop the bleeding and farm up as best you can, even if the best you can do is half your opponent's cs, and let your team carry.
Due to the experience mastery removal, Supports can no longer roam and get extra experience as well.
It..."sigh" if you won't make it past Platinum then his statement still stands...btw i'm Platinum too.
What? Platinum is past Silver....
It's a metaphor. Platinum's attitude and and fortune is pretty much the same as Silver.
no it's much worse. in silver at least some people know they're bad. in plat people think they're hot shit and proceed to be unbelievably toxic lmao
We're on different servers and have different MMRs. I'm generalizing how people behave since i've spent 2 years on EUNE and in EUW High-Gold people don't seem to be much better at times.
To the 2-4 people who downvote me all the time, at least comment without making me think Scrying just asks his friends to quickly downvote me to support his argument.
Why the fuck would I take the time to ask people to downvote a post that doesn't even matter? Can you just not accept that there are people who disagree with your opinion without questioning the authenticity of the downvotes?
And you didn't even address the main subject of my comment.
Congrats man, gj on getting to plat. I'm a bronze 2 so it prob don't mean much coming from me, but im working my way up. Hope we can play sometime :D
What? How so? You telling me Gj is worth the same as a challenger telling me gj. Dont sell yourself short. You aren't defined by bronze, you're definied by your actions.
Keep climbing and never stop even if its hard
'Eyyyy! Good job bud! Hope the journey 'till this point wasn't too rough. Congratz on the Plat! I haven't finished my placements yet this season, though I'm expecting bronze... (Here's where the sad face goes)
Sooo, Uh... If I may be so rude... Can I ask for some tips? I'm someone who finds Karma fun to play... But I just can't manage to find success with her. Especially support. So, uh... How does the Karma do? Like, In what opportunities do you Mantra what abilities? What are her strengths and weaknesses? And what kind of bot-lanes should she avoid going into or maybe the ones she SHOULD go be in?
If you'd be willing to help a Used-To-Be-Silver scrub out, that'd be very muchly appreciated, I really wanna be able to figure out what the hell I'm doing wrong QnQ
I added you so we can talk about it :)
Fck You're on EUW.
Mantra Usage: Early game cling more to RQ and RW BUT if they fight you and there's a lot of minons so you can't RQ, then RE
Late game you wanna nearly almost use RE (RW is good for catching out but only use it if you're positive they wont escape (it has a LONG ROOT) or to bait with the heal)
If your team doesnt need the shield haste then RQ is good for providing a massive slow field and some good damage too.
She thrives early as a poke mage so try to get a lot of AP early (FQC Sorcs Morrello Or Liandrys) and then falls off into Utility [Unless you built full AP](So try to get items to compliment this style as well: Mikaels Zekes Banner Locket)
I find it hard to poke when they sit behind a lot of minons so that's good poke denial but you dont always have to poke. Sometimes you shouldnt if you feel like its dangerous.
Ok well I never really say to AVOID lanes (being a one trick pony that I play Karma every time I get support) but play Cautious in pull / hook lanes. Don't try to poke when they have their hooking spells up.
Any thing specific?
Thanks, there's a lot of good stuff here already, I figure I stuck too much with the sustain RW gave. I'm guessing I also never actually did enough anything with RE... Underestimating utility! Yaaaaaay!
So, I'm assuming in lane, regardless of wether it's solo or duo, it's "AA as much as safely possible" as well? Her passive Mantra CD refreshing certainly seems to suggest it. I'm also assuming as a support I'll be starting Spellthief's Edge, a support item I am very, VERY cautious about picking up... Any tips for lanes that are either hard to poke (Vayne, Graves, Caitlyn sorta, Lucian ect.), are SUPER RISKY to poke (Blitz, Thresh, Leona) or have some or other form of sustain or such (Sona, Nami, Soraka, Braum)?
Besides this, I think I'm actually fine on the knowledge front just from what you've said already, at least for now. Thanks for taking the time to answer! :P And, yeah. I'm on EUW. Seems most of the nice people I meet are NA... I can't play on NA though, my ping would probably be massive
Yes, bro, Use Spellthiefs. Practice with it in normals and get a feel for it. Even if you dont like poking or can't poke in a lane, it is still effective because of the AP and the upgraded items. ADCs with dashes often will dash AS SOON AS YOU PRESS MANTRA so bait it out and then try to auto them or their support and RE(or RQ if they didnt get out of range with the dash) for a quick disengage. Hard poke lanes: I'd go passive and then go in or try to poke at the exact perfect time (their spells are on cooldown and you have more minions and you're sure you wont get ganked) Sustain supports: I usually go passive in lane or auto attack them, they will heal up all your damage so you might as well not go in unless they are out of mana or you have a gank on the way. Supports with Pulls or Hard engage, you really can only q from behind your own minions and try to hit them or else just save your mana and spells for when they do land a hard engage.
DONT RQ AND PRAY IT WILL HIT LOL
trust me, enemies will jump on you when they see it is down....
and as for auto attacking, I do it when their adc is about to cast an auto on a minon so they can't react and poke me. I do this only when my shield is up and when my ADC is near me
Ah okay. Thanks for the advice! I never actually considered that the ONE thing people remember about Karma is "Sa Elasa" and her massive early poke damage, that's actually a pretty funny way to make someone use their dodge move preemptively :P
The reason I don't like picking up spellthief's is, well... It's bot lane. Step a quarter-Teemo out of line and, whoops, that's half your healthbar gone. In addition, if you can't get enough poke in, you ain't getting any gold either. No Gold, no Sightstone, no scaling and no extra utility. As someone who started out maining Sejuani, a TANK, it's pretty much ingrained into the deepest part of my League subconcious that "Low gold means I'm gonna die uselessly". Didn't really help when I transitioned into Veigar during a time where Zed Assassins ran rampant. No Zhonya's, no healthbar.
I will try to practise using it right though. :P
BUT! Back onto Karma, thanks for the advice! Hopefully, I'll be able to find the success that oh-so-nimbly evaded me before!
Just one last thing; How do you feel about Ardent Censer on Karma? Looking at it, it seems really nice. Especially if you have teamies like Tristana, Kog'Maw(Oh god Kog'Maw), Yi, Jax, Xin Zhao ect.. And that passive on your entire team... It just looks too good to pass up
I never tried it to be honest because I feel like the stats are too mediocre for the effects. But it gives 10% Cooldown so I would ONLY build it when I am under 45%
Ah, right... That is true. I'll still try it regardless, if I have an AA heavy team :P
Anyways, thanks again for the advice and good luck with your further matches of League!
How do you see how good you are with a champ? lol
Also Congratz!
Type your name in and go to Champion performance. You only get on the Topslist chart if you have 4000 LSS and your lss increases with champ performance
