Quit B****ing when your Support has more Kills

This irks me because an ADC with 0-0-5 250 CS can easily kill an ADC with 5-0-0 150 CS. And the only reason Supports "steal kills" is to make sure YOU don't die to the assassin coming for you. So when I "accidentally" kill the 150 HP Riven while you've 50 HP, DO NOT BLAME ME! Besides...when you think about it, I just happen to get some extra pocket change (assists grant gold too btw), I get more active items to protect you with, more ability power to heal you with, more health to tank the damage you're NOT taking, and more resistances to make sure I don't fall like a wet tissue.** #SorryButNotSorryKS**

Cause I know some jerk will come here and say "well my support ks's when I can kill the person" and my response to you is, "Ok...Didn't you get some gold from it too? Didn't you have a whole 15 minutes to just sit there and CS? I'm sorry that you didn't because if you did, you wouldn't be complaining"

With that being said, if you're ADC can get the kill, and is weak, while other members of the team are fed, there shouldn't be any worry. Sometimes the carry gets carried. Be happy and take a win. #JustFarmDuringLanePhase&YouShouldBeGood

I'm done apologizing for doing my job.

As a support main, I know that I should never steal kills

From my adc

Everyone else is free game

I have literally made clutch-kills at just the end of my skillshot range before, with my adc at low hp behind me and then been flamed for "ks". I've also been yelled at for ks'ing with Zyra plants... like excuse me let me just turn those off real quick.

Sometimes I'll accidentally get too many kills, and at a certain point I just stop trying to avoid it.

Jorencice12/29/2015, 11:51:45 PM7 votes

Yea but a 5/0/0 250 cs adc will beat a 0/0/5 250 cs adc

There's no reason for the adc with kills to have less cs randomly.

Honestly, it depends on who the ADC and who the support is.

I love when im a high damage support (Karma, Lux, Annie) and i just 1vs1 their adc alone and get kills and then they ask "Karma why do you have 3 kills omfg i need them" "Well sir, 2 of them were kills i made when you werent here and the other one was a secure"

Although, most of the time i end up building Lux/Annie/Karma full ap because of the ridiculous amount of kills i get from stupid enemy ADCs understimating my damage and i end up carrying

Eh it goes both ways here.

I had an ADC game today. I cs'd well. I felt like I carried. I commented at the end of the game that my support had more kills than me. I wasn't complaining that he stole kills, just making a comment. It explained my day on league pretty well, even when I played everything really well I just couldn't get a kill! I had the most gold on the map, second most damage dealt to champions, and after all of that only 4 kills (support had 5).

In this sense I wasn't complaining and had no right to. I know no one was stealing kills. We were in teamfights. Other players just happened to get the last hit. It was hectic because everyone wanted to do damage and not die. That's why we won.

At the same time, if you have a kill available and the wrong player takes it, it can make a big difference. I'm not talking about the 200g difference between first blood and assist on first blood. I think that's not a big difference. The bigger thing is the half level of xp you get for killing someone the same level as you.

Sometimes I see someone snowballing on gold and not levels and become near impossible to stop. It does happen, but rarely.

Far more often, I see people snowball with both. I do however also see people snowball with levels and not gold. They can have less cs and less gold and still wreck you because they've got 3 levels on you. 4 early kills equates to 2 full levels. Put that on a solo laner who already typically has a 2 level lead on bot lane. You now have a level 9 solo laner against a level 5 bot lane. You've barely started and it's game over.

I think if you can put the kills on the same player early and snowball them a level advantage, do it. It makes a huge difference. It invalidates their lane opponent and makes bot lane unable to go anywhere for fear of getting caught. Later, share the kills as much as possible. You want your bot lane to catch up in xp and levels. You want everyone to have gold, so if anyone gets caught/targeted the others are still useful. A player who continues to take every kill through the end of mid game and proceeds to get killed once will cost his team the game because 40% of their gold is now out of commission.

I have a adc duo who competes with me to get kills. Instead of being angry of kills I get (specially early game) we made it into a contest. When we switch roles in normals we have the same contest just reversed roles. He's started to understand its not easy to purposely take the kill even as zyra support.

In the end it doesn't matter who gets the kill bot cause alot of the supports being used right now scale well with extra gold.

But, what if I play Draven? I can at least begin to feel a bit upset after multiple kills are taken from me yes? I mean, isn't the whole point of the kit to get kills, not give them to others?

CoolHandJack12/30/2015, 7:26:38 AM4 votes

because the map is dark and full of junglers, I am always PRAYING to the lord of the light for those early support kills as nothing is better then coming back to lane and the support has sightstone and upgraded support item.

Argument to end all argument:

As a support, I am (or should be) doing less damage then all of you. Therefore, if I get a kill, it's not my fault; it is your fault for not doing enough damage or being out of position to land the kill.

What are my jobs as the support? To win lane and protect my ADC. It is NOT to get my ADC fed. It is the ADC's responsibility to get fed. My jobs and ONLY jobs are to win lane and protect my ADC.

How do I accomplish my job?

  1. Warding (protecting)
  2. Tanking (protecting)
  3. Healing (protecting)
  4. Peeling (protecting)
  5. Setting up CS (winning)
  6. Initiating when appropriate (winning)
  7. Pushing when appropriate (winning)
  8. SECURING KILLS (WINNING AND PROTECTING)

ADC's job:

  1. Farming (not my fault if you suck at this)
  2. Not dying (positioning - not my fault if you suck at this)
  3. Killing (not my fault if you suck at this)

I only actually get upset when it's a blatantly obvious ks, like when you have them rooted in your Jinx traps, and its a melee that can't touch you, and then Sona walks up and smashes the Q button for no reason... Even then, the most I say is "really man?"

TheGosuStandard12/30/2015, 8:43:06 PM3 votes

ADC main here, if my support is an AP & takes the kill I officially become their support

SociopathFriend12/30/2015, 3:46:05 AM2 votes

At the same time though, if you have the choice, let the ADC get the kill. There's going to be times when you don't have the choice- and quite honestly most ADCs I've come across are well aware that the choice between death or assist is not a hard one- but otherwise a fed ADC is going to be better than a fed Support.

Troll for Trump12/30/2015, 9:13:40 AM1 votes

Exception to this rule is the Overlord Draven . Seriously. He snowballs really easily, and his reworked passive is entirely based on him getting kills; It's not the kills that Draven deserves(the supp will do a lot more) but the kills that he needs.

Zedex12/30/2015, 4:58:07 PM1 votes

There is literally 0 reason for a support to be securing kills. If the support has to secure a kill the ADC failed. If you faceroll as Sona and kill steal all the time, you fail. You get a lot more gold for getting kills, and if you're a decent player you'll realize giving that gold to the carry will help you snowball and win (which is the grand point of the fucking game btw, not taking all the kills from your carry to see if they get upset, im looking at you Sona players) faster, which means more LP, which means more rank, which means more inflated egos.
