Riot, why did you nerf Wukong's E

What kind of out-of-left field nerf was that? What the hell were you even thinking. Please tell me. He is one of the weakest, most dysfunctional, binary champions in the game and you think nerfing him is going to somehow make things better?

This is one of those things where you KNOW the person who made that decision really hates the champ.

Worst part is that they simply nerfed his E damage, when it's only used as a gap closer, damage are all done on his next AA.

His E still adds damage to his all-in so either way you're hitting his all-in burst. So the difference between nerfing Q and E comes down to different questions such as:

  1. Do you want to nerf his sustained damage in a longer fight? (Yes): Nerf Q because it has a shorter CD. (No): Nerf E because it has a longer CD.

  2. Do you want to nerf his burst earlier in the game or later? (Yes): Nerf E damage per rank because the most popular skill orders max E first. (No): Nerf Q damage per rank.

  3. Do you want to nerf his laning phase? (Yes): Nerf Q because it has a shorter CD and lower mana cost so it will be used in more trades. (No): Nerf E because he doesn't use it in every single trade in lane.

  4. Do you want to change which order he maxes his abilities? (Yes): Nerf E. (No): Nerf Q.

  5. Do you want to nerf his max damage combo? (Yes): Nerf E because Q first makes E benefit from the armor reduction. (No): Nerf Q.

The point is that regardless of what your answers are to those questions, both possible nerfs will hit his all-in burst which I assume is the primary goal.

And isn't his E the first ability to be maxed first?

They should have nerfed duskblade.

They probably wanted to reduce his burst to compensate for all the point and click burst sources he got from new items. So they took some point and click burst off his kit. Makes perfect sense actually.
