Ryze Jungle: it works really well.

Title: for real Ryzesummoner 11 works.

Pros: insane ganks, good potential lategame and early. the build can be really versatile from super tanky, to AP squishy and if you are crazy enough you can even go AD. The Shield passive will keep you life high as you go on the jungle, so unlike you might think you are not weak to counterjungling, actually, if the enemy jungler thinks it is a good idea to go in your jungle he will get a surprise. Also, super fast clears at level 5.

Cons: you have to know how his combos works, first clear can be weak and depends on kiting the blue mob on the first time, be careful or you might be invaded, you have to get a item 2032 and a item 3070 as fast as you can.

**Start: ** item 1039 item 2031 item 3340 and level up E first (low cooldown)

First Clear: _Start in Gromp with a good leash, spam your E and smite right away to get the venom debuff, use a potion, after finishing off the Gromp go to your blue, once you get to level 2 level up your Q. To kill blue you will have to kite and spam your passive Shield. To do so use E two times in a row on the giant Blue guardian, then use Q on him, it will proc your shield and do a good AoE damage, this combo is the base of your jungle as it allows you to spread E and clear super quick. Repeat the process until you kill the Blue Guardian or until you run out of mana (and you will run out of mana). Afterwards you can kill the river Crab or you can just immediatly call back, and you will have to call back because you need the item 2032 potion (cause mana). Afterwards go straight for the Red repeat the combo process, you will get to level 3, level up your W, your first gank will be settled with this. _

Ganking: it all will depend on how you play your combos, your E is used to empower any other ability cast after it: your Q will deal extra damage, your W will last 2 seconds instead of one or you can just wait to cast E again and spread the debuff to do an insane AoE with Q. The base entry is E+W for extra CC time, unless you just want to max damage, the max damage combo is Q then W (resets Q) then Q again then E then Q again, it all depends. As long as you ping your allied laner and you land your W or empowered W on the enemy you will have a good gank. Entering unseen or with R/6 is good, specially if used on a bush where it is not visible.

**Lategame: **your potential is the same as the regular Ryze, some might think not having an "useful" summ spell might hurt him on fights but it doesnt, he usually has summoner 12 on lane and he does well without ignite, exhaust or heal. You might surely be doing a lot better than lane Ryze because his combo is insane for Ganks, so staying on a lane is not actually that good, instead while on the jungle you will be able to gank constantly. Secure objetives and do some crazy stunts like set a team scape or a full team gank with ult.

**Mana Problems: **solve them early with Blue Guardian buff and item 2032, afterwards you might be forced to buy a item 3070 or a item 3057 (I play item 3100 Ryze yeah).

old ryze could also jungle. how would you say this is compared to the old one?

Better AoE in early without having to use ult, actually the AoE is more powerful than before, also the CC lasts longer than before and the ult is better to set up ganks and scapes.

If I might give you a suggestion... get item 3030 instead of item 3070. Since is already full item on buy you will hit a bigger spike mid game.

the mana costs are too high. you could pull it off but it's not as good as ryze in a lane or a normal jungler.

Cherysse1 votes

hmm whut? Blue buff solves a lot of his early issues; item 2032 helps a lot, finally I always build a item 3070 anyways, as first item.

I've played ryze and it's pretty inferior to lane ryze.

Cherysse1 votes

Then you played it wrong, his ganks in early are really awesome.

Marshbouy1 votes

why not just play midlane ryze and gank people anyway? Why constantly have to take blue from your midlaner? Why be forced to build the crappy jungle items on ryze? Why risk being invaded early?

Why make mid so reliant on blue buff....it's a jungle creep not a lane minion. I understand it's a nice gesture and can really help, but that same mid laner flames to no end when you tax their minions on an unsuccessful gank

Marshbouy1 votes

So you want to intentionally screw over the midlaner? If the enemy midlaner is getting blue buff im sure as hell giving it to mine. Jungling is not about being super duper greedy about everything unless you are playing a farm or carry jungler. Why are you even taxing minions on an unsuccessful gank?

I dislike how people are saying it's weaker than lane, it's like ok we know he was made to be a damn laner. That's not the point of the post, OP went out of his way to tell us how he jungles with him and the more successful way he's found to do it. It's useless criticism that's already known.

Other than that small rant I can't wait to try this in the jungle! After I get that last token for my Vel mastery I planned on picking up ryze full time and my two main roles are mid and Jung so this helps tremendously, and gives me the edge to use him more in dynamic queue when I don't get mid! Thanks for the sweet info and glhf.

Never thought of Ryze as a jungle, I need to try this out.. seems pretty good with his new ult. good thinking man

I actually played it before, and the ganks are pretty good.

The main issues though is that you have to delay large parts of your build before you can do as much lane Ryze. Plus you easily succumb to invades and have a lot of problems when it comes to clearing the jungle, mostly due to mana. The best way i feel to build Ryze in the jungle is focusing on a more top-lane build, especially when the enemy jungler is more damage/lock-down oriented.

His jungling is fun, but I wouldn't recommend it in ranked.

I have been meaning to try jungle with new Ryze. I use to do it on twisted treeline with old ryze but avoided it in 5's as I was sure I would be counter jungled hard. I will try it later.

I still jungle Morgana on occasion also, but like Ryze your Blue reliant. With Morgana use Flat Armor runes so you start at 35 armor or so and start W at blue buff. She stays healthy in the jungle because of her passive spell vamp and landing a binding on a gank is pretty much a guaranteed kill. Need to use bindings from fog of war or use chilling smite for higher chances of landing your bindings if your against decent players.

Karthus jungle is still fun, need to build tear early tho and having spell vamp runes is a must along with getting isolation damage on your Q's in jungle to stay healthy.

Vid of early clear? Feels like this would be very easy to abuse early since he's forced to start at blue... Am I wrong?

WoonStruck1 votes

You're not wrong.

If you're looking for a gimmick, Leona jungle works a lot better after her mini update.

AS/AD runes, start machete Your Q+2 auto resets should effectively do 300 damage early game to monsters.

Max Q first. Sit on machete, buy a hunter's talisman if you find the mana issues unbearable. Outside of that, get bambi's cinder and sheen asap. Your clears become very fast if you get a decent start.

item 3001 item 1409 item 3025 is gunna be your core.

You end up with a good mix of offense and defense; the lack of HP is offset by cinderhulk and the jungle mastery. Next 2 items should probably contain some form of HP, though. item 3083 item 3143 item 3190 item 3742 item 3102 Late game you can sell cinderhulk for sunfire if you need armor more than the wards/smite bonus.

Don't pick into junglers that are likely to invade early unless you can get your team to collapse. You can definitely hold them still long enough.

Oh, and try to make the first camp a smiteless leash.

Start in Gromp with a good leash

IMO its kinda wrong. What if you don't have a good leash? If you decide to Smite Gromp and then go for Blue buff Blue buff you will be out of mana and mana is all you need

After Blue Buff go for Gromp. Shield - E E Q then repeat E Q for single target damage

at level 3 - E E Q, W E Q, That is Double Shield with Extra Damage Then E Q for Single Target Damage

and thats the starting point

I prefer go for Ghost so i can survive a counter jungle. Mobility IMO is very important and right now Ghost is Really good. 40% movement speed for 10 seconds > 400 range flash

W E Q shield, speed, damage E W Q shield, double root duration, speed. Good for Escape or ganks

E E, pause until E off Cooldown, Q then W E Q for damage

Always move on and try to avoid stopping W move around E move Q move
