LP loss and afks

I really think that when you have someone afk in a ranked match, there should be some sort of system in place to reduce your LP loss if you lose. This is not an uncommon problem, and it feels a bit harsh to suffer full LP loss in a match that was 4v5.

But Riot wont bother to do anything about it.

Been a problem for a long while XD.

Other similar games or other competitive games have introduced certain measures to ease the pains of AFKs. Some take away less points, or you take less of an MMR beating. Others give chance for leaving within a certain time frame if there is an AFK w/ little to no consequence to those who loaded up in the game. Others count match as something other than loss and dont take away points for those that stayed (and wins net extra points).

Riot's LoL... it does nothing but punish you for losing, and not much for winning.

They need learn or take a lesson and listen to people's woes (the one problem that can be easily solved, and who cares about Tank Fiora if Riot actually fixes the AFK issue XD). Or try implementing something in a Beta Environment to determine which system works best for LoL.

Something needs to happen though. Its a joke at the moment. Why play ranked at all when more than 50% of games have trolls and afkers?

My solution would be that if the afk were trackable (player name shows red at end of match), then the afker should lose double LP, the teammates who duo/trio/quadro-queued with him should lose standard LP (this keeps people from cheating the system to help friends when losing), and the non-associated players should only lose half LP (understanding that Riot can't exempt the team entirely just b/c of a bad situation).

This may cause players to be less likely to leave a match (due to losing 2x the LP). If you duo queue with someone likely to afk, you set yourself up for failure and get zero amnesty. If you just happen to be in a bad situation, you aren't forced to endure the full blow.
