So many smurfs in silver now

Yeah smurfs have always been around, but this season it got so much worse for obvious reasons, you can just boost friends. I'm looking up the lolking of every sus person i come across, and it tends not to fail sadly... You open the persons lolking and they have a handful of games on a champ, it's their first season playing and they have 80% win rate on them lol. I'm seeing this so often, -"wow that team was really good, i wonder if they all main those champs" you look them up and yeah it's a premade, and the person in question barely has any ranked games played, but mostly victories.

I try not to take the hostile approach and be all salty at them, i usually try to add and msg them or talk after the game to confirm if they were actually smurfs, just out of curiosity, and 95% of the time, no joke, yeah it's someone in Platinum helping the silver friends get to gold or what ever, and when you have 2 of them premade, it feels impossible to pull off a win. Silver isn't even silver anymore, it's a mix of these 1 sided games that either have the 1 team with a guy that just got done with placements vs the team with a 90% viktor winrate. And you talk to these people to find out why exactly they are smurfing at such low elo, and often times it's not even boosting a friend, it's just -"my elo is boring"....... what does that even mean? That you can't cary at your elo because you don't deserve to be there so you come to silver and shit on players who aren't as good? Feel like people keep getting boosted to their rank, then play there a bit and lose a ton, so they decide to come play at lower elo were they belong, cause "silver is fun" is the answer i get a lot from them to... fun? If you just want to shit on people who are worse why not go bots? what makes it fun? It's an ego trip is what, i guess it makes them feel less shit about doing bad at their actual elo.

As a player in Platinum I completely understands why plat smurfs say that plat is boring. It isn't because they don't belong there, them destroying silvers shows they do, it's because plat has both longer queue times and becomes more of a team game that can't, usually, be carried by one person going ham unless they are a master/challenger smurf. Also this season plat has become extraordinarily toxic between all the people there thinking they deserve diamond when they don't and all the boosted players who don't belong in plat to begin with. Most smurfs I talk to are doing it because they don't see rank as meaning anything unless you are high diamond because pretty much any player up to diamond 5 could have been boosted there.

By the way it feels really good to go 28/5 as J4 mid or 16-1 as ap nasus mid not because I am bad with them but because the higher elos I play against won't make enough mistakes for me to carry with them as easily. Then again when does that not feel good for any player? The difference is the smurf can pull that off more often.

I think it's because they can do well in them without trying. As you rank up, games have to be more calculated because most people that are there are really good and make good decisions and great rotations. They can capitalize on mistakes whereas in Bronze and Silver, one small mistake may not be followed up on so you can play a more relaxed game which ultimately makes it more fun.

In diamond 3 I have to wait an eternity and only face the same meta champs. Doing norms with my friends on my main means they all have to face plats as average players And get destroyed. So I smurf.

Honestly , as someone already mentioned , high gold and plat is lame af and queue times take up to 15 minutes with autofill enabled. Silver is honestly so easy to play in

i think smurfs are fun. youre trying to get better right? well if you are complaining about competing with higher mmr players then why play the game.
