How i feel after 1 million mastery on vayne?

I'm not the oldest player here by any means, i started season 4, but since i started playing this game it has changed a lot. Season 4 i played a variety of champions and learned about the ranking system, played my first few ranked games and spent the season somewhere in bronze. Somewhere at the end of that season i got very frustrated with ranked, i had the stereotypical feeling that the "team was always feeding", so i abandoned Top and Jungle for MId and ADC, and soon for mainly adc. Long story short i played all adc's and fell in love with Vayne Vayne, but i didn't just fall in love with her, i dedicated what is now officially 1 million mastery points to Vayne, and quite honestly, i was a Vayne main before the mastery system even came out, so it probably should be 1.5 mil by now.

In season 5 i started bronze 5, i played mostly Vayne, and went from b5 to Gold 3. It took me around 200 ranked games with vayne and occasional fill-in champs, and at that time the mastery system wasn't around just yet, so i think i had anywhere from 100k-250k vayne mastery at the time. As season 5 progressed i observed the tank meta grow in to what it is now, i saw adc's becoming less important and the mid lane losing some power, i noticed the game become progressively more team reliant, or really, dependent. The meta shifted to a tank focus, and as a Vayne became a target for possible reworks, nerfs and changes, given that she directly countered the tank meta. This was an extremely frustrating time for me, during preseason 6 i saw much discussion on what would be done to Vayne and why, i asked around why she needed nerfs so bad if tanks were still stronger any way, and the answers was mainly -" It's not that she is that Op right now, it's just that you can't have 1 adc do that well in the meta and not the others".

Over this time between beginning of season 5 to preseason 6 adc's received many changed, especially when it came to items. Vayne took the short end of the stick completely here, and i think it was from here on that my love for this game died a bit. Bork use to cost 2800gs and it has always been Vaynes core item, it became eventually what is now 3400....Apparently the item countered the meta to hard i guess, to be 100% honest with you i have always though bork was weak even when it was "strong" and so did most famous vayne players like Double Lift, who i was an avid viewer of (of course), bork has always been a bad option, you will lose lane always to the guy building Ie, and at that time even worse, you had to rush ie and bork was weak, i found that going crit Vayne was way more effective for that reason, but that's just me. So when they even nerffed and upped the cost on bork, i never built that thing again, and still when i do it feels useless as a first item and overpriced. Then came the nerfs/reworks to Vayne, and heres where it got bad.

Changes to vayne in preseason 6: The champ had her W reworked.... okay this is a bit hard to understand, her silver bolts use to deal

(BASE TRUE DAMAGE 20/30/40/50/60) So this means that your 3rd proc auto had a fixed amount of damage it dealt, the cool thing about this is that it gave her decent trade potential in lane, never ever has it been good, she always gets bullied by everyone since the day i started playing, but it wasn;t as bad at this time, you could still out skill the enemy adc early. They changed her W to 6/7.5/9/10.5/12% of target's maximum health. This is the weirdest thing for me to understand till this day, quite honestly the most notable thing i noticed after this change is well...winning lane is not a thing anymore, that's fine if you're better than me and you always win lane with Vayne, but every pro player who mains her or plays her a lot knows she is known for being pathetic in lane phase, always has but somehow these changes managed to make her lane the most frustrating stage of the game, were it feels like skill is not a factor, it's more of an RNG which jungler fits more ganks in pre lvl 6. More to the point, this made it so Vayne's passive a bit more stronger vs tanks, but worse vs bruisers/carriers.

After this Vayne didn't really get touched to much, she just took a nerf and the other adc's all got reworks or buffs, but the hope for Vayne was the Statik+Cannon proc that made crit Vayne extremely fun and strong, even after the rework, but then they took that out of the game too....the cannon and shiv proc stack was nerfed to. All other adc's seem to have received buffs over time and changes that just made them way....way better for the most part. Here is where it gets very opinion based i guess, something happened between these nerfs, other champs getting buffed and item/meta changes....I can't pin down exactly what happened, but season 6 is a mess. When specifically talking about Vayne, i got reset from gold to bronze and have now been grinding for months on end, from 200k to 1 million mastery on this useless champ Rito forgot about ![Vayne](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Vayne.png). Bottom line is the champion has never felt the same, practice, practice, more sleepless nights of practice for no other reason other than trying to get better and master my craft, until 1 mil mastery, why did i do that? Honestly, i am worse 800k mastery points latter than i was 1 year a go when i barely knew half of the things i do now, why? Cause i'm not worse, this game just changed so much i feel like i'm playing something else.

My experience as Vayne this season for the past 500 ranked games has been that.... she is unviable....honestly, call me pile of boosted trash ok, but i think theres a reason Double lift quit playing her -"Vayne is fun, but losing is not", even gosu plays a lot more Ezreal/Jhin, i just don't see any famous players rocking that Vayne in the Lcs or any of those insane plays we would see from her in seasons 2-3 or so, i have read on this and heard there were small changes to her animation cancels, that i don't quite understand. But it has become drastically harder to orbwalk and cancel autos with her while completing them, autoing and canceling it by accident seems to happen more often if you are not extra careful to let it process now, she is much more "clunky" as a champ, and if you look at montages of good Vayne players this season vs season 3 or so you will see what i mean, there are some plays Uzi and Dlift would pull back then, that the current Vayne would not allow for, she's slower and i'm not sure why exactly. Aside from that, the experience it self has been repetitive.... i just get camped or 4 maned all game lol, i get out traded by every adc and lose lane to people who might as well have just picked up their adc, honestly it's embarrassing when you dedicate this much time to a champion yet people with 50k mastery show up with Jhin and beat me like it's nothing. legit everyone beats me in lane now with no exceptions unless i get carried by my sup, which let's talk about this dynamic really quick. I have noticed that the support impact in my lane is now 300% more present or so, they deal a literal fuck ton what happened to zyra? Sona like jesus these have always been counters because they can harass you, but now it just feels like i might as well let go of the keyboard untill i hit lvl 12 and hope we haven't gotten snowballed on until then.

The other thing is that Early game, Mid game and Late game are no longer a thing this season, champions who are lane bullies like cait or jhin who can deal so much it's insane, or even luc they just don't fall off anymore....It use to be that Cait for example, i had a very standard procedure for playing this match-up, you don't fight, just farm and out scale, it use to work and around lvl 12 i was strong to duel her and lvl 15 to beat her. Now? Dude does cait even have a bad pahse? shes an all game champ, wtv she "Falls off" mid game, how can you have a champ that bullies me all lane phase so i can't cs and late game 2 shot crits me??? these early game bullies have changed in such a way that the core principals of the game don't seem to apply anymore, core concept keep getting thrown out the garbage with each patch....like what happened to Wukong? That thing 1 combos me every fight withot a reaction, honestly, everything either 1 shots me or has a ridiculous health pool and still outdamages me over time. I'm not saying that if i just get to stand and auto nothing happens, expect that doesn't happen what usually happens is me trying to dodge from this chain : Amumu goes in where ever and hits R aoe cc and half my hp somehow, leona shows up with that 3 skill cc chain E, Q , R. Then malp hits R see??? like i don't even need to mention Twitch already killed me by the time malp ulted or that annie can just hit R too and 1 shot me...everything 1 shots me, late game doesn't seem to exist anymore, i'm getting out laned by people who barely know the champion they are playing and everything just feels so weird in this game now, adc's are not the carries anymore for one, we are kind of "Siege equipment"...? I'm not sure what my role is anymore, i call adc the "try not to get chain ccd on role", cause that's all i do...i deal no dmg and die quicker than anything else, it's just not fun for me. I wish i was stuned less often for one, i spend most of fights ccd by something anyway, so much random aoe or ashe ult cc type things flying on my screen constant and if i get hit by 1 cc move it's this domino effects of another 5 chained skills, i never get to actually play the game lol. I don't think the problem is just limmited to vayne, i think many champs got fucked, i just think she got fucked harder and i'm not talking out of my ass, at some point after repeatedly playing a champion you should get good, right? not with Vayne, it doesn't happen -" cause you suck, you wish you could be Dlift and Gosu so you could play like them"...Honestly i wish i was Dlift because of his pay check, but because of his Vayne skills? Who's Vayne skills are even relevant in pro League these days? Cause the adc's i see are all the same always, never see her played in competitive, it sucks to look for inspiration from the "legends" who play her and they have nothing good to say about her other than mastering the champ is a waste of time or high effort/low reward.

Personal Vayne feelings a side, i just don't like how much damage tanks deal...getting deleted by zed is never fun, but it makes more sense than getting deleted by Darius....what happened to mah boy DariusDarius after juggernaut update??? This dude is so strong you don't need an adc on your team...tanks take no damage, heal for a ton, are cc annoyances and deal a ton...this is not fun at all anymore, my role just feels obsolete. So i have chosen to take a small break for a the season and come back next one or check out pre season, maybe the game will look a bit more like it did in season 4 idk...i just think there is a very clear reason why everyone is quitting now this season, no one likes the meta and the game just feels oddly unbalanced.

Why dont you switch too? Ez is good and so are Jinx and Twitch, they both do the same thing of Vayne.

Lmao so you main a CANCER champion that can 1vs5 even after she lost her lane, just by freezing at her inner tower and buying 1 fucking item?

Damn, you must be good.

Hey there! Sorry to revive a dead thread but your post really resonated with me. I think for anybody to be stuck in bronze after achieving a higher level of play is unreasonable. I know, I started out in bronze 4 in season 2. To me it sounds like you have mastered your champion mechanically but not mastered 'the game'. I ended season 6 in plat 3, playing vayne and Lucian. I main adc and would like to offer to review a replay for you and perhaps if you'd like go over one of my games and compare the things we do differently. Thing is, watching the pros is very tough because of the level that they think about the game at. Some decision they make are only sensible in their tier. I was in the same boat, watching gosu, bang, and imp, and then would try to replicate the same decisions without success. What I learned was two things. 1) some games are intrinsically a loss from the moment you get partnered with your teammates. If your team comp is really poor because two of the five players only play assassins, for example, you will have a decreased chance at winning. Learn to identify those games and use them as practice and accept that you will probably lose in 20 minutes. Don't get emotionally invested, you'll make bad decisions and even worse plays. 2) instead of copying a pro's decisions, let your mastery oft our champ guide your decision making. They call it knowing your limits. Double lift might be able to condemn + flash animation cancel and know that he needs to do that in a specific situation to win a 1v2 but YOU probably don't have that confidence and mechanical prowess, yet. For example, you are farming at your inner because you lost lane. Draven - brand run out of the golem camp and you can tell immediately they will dive you. Your process of thinking should be "can I get out safely? Could I make a play? If so would I die? If yes would it be worth? If yes which one of the two do I focus first? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN? (R - q - flash - e? Or q dodge brand w - q focus draven knowing his heal is down?). If you were double lift you might be able to say 'yes' to all of those and formulate a quick and effective plan AND carry it out with your strong mechanics. You and I on the other hand might be able to identify all of those (or maybe not even) but be unable to mechanically do those things. And thus in your and my case we would run and make sure we lived as opposed to fighting. Sorry for the wall of text, I really hope this helps a little and, again, pm me if you want more advice! Take care!!
