What support champ (if everyone played at equal level high skill) is the best?

Thresh as he can land a hook? Blitz too? Morgana as they can shield their adc and bind the enemy? Sona if she can ult and play? Leona stun?

If you mean that they would always land their skill(s), then Blitz would be the strongest support in the game imo. One hook late game on a priority target(adc/mid) should result in their immediate death and a 4v5. If you mean overall usefulness, then Thresh/Morgana would be there ahead of him. The other supports are good as well, but they usually need a specific type of comp to play in.

Depends on the ADC. Some supports are good engagers (Leona, Thresh, Braum, Nautilus, Blitz, Alistair), some are good at sustain (Sona, Nami, Soraka, maybe Alistair). Some can peel really well (Morgana, Janna, Nautilus, Alistair, Lulu), and some are great at harassing/zoning the enemy (Morgana, Vel'koz, Annie, Lux). It really depends a lot on complimenting your ADC's strengths and weaknesses, your own personal playstyle, and (in draft modes) what the enemy team picked.

I know Thresh is usually a solid pick, as he can sorta fill several roles in there in case your ADC is not communicating or in, say, Team Builder.
