Boycotting dynamic queue is the only solution now to bring solo queue back

Too Ton··165 votes·4,210 views

Instead of complaining about no solo queue, if you truely want solo queue back then boycot ranked. Do not buy rp. Whether you are a solo or premade who supports the old matchmaking system, do it. Once riot knows their true number of players, they will be hard pressed to make a decision should the movement against dynamic queue be strong.

Man, either you're bullshitting so hard, or you're such an irresponsible person.

The world's in an incredibly bad statement. Any gods we can actually get really should be sorting issues out rather than picking their nose at a computer.

Ain't nobody picking up DOTA in a day and reaching 6k. Could be unambiguously the best League player in the world, and it would still take time to learn the heroes, items, and completely different and usually more dynamic meta. Not to mention just how different it feels, due to turn rates, the lengthier attack and cast animations, and the mechanics that look really similar to League's but really aren't.

So you're either bullshitting or you're a literal god. In which case, there are far better uses for your divine powers that the world desperately needs.

Ahristocats3 votes

i didn't understand what you are saying, but i didn't reach 6k, what i'm trying to show is that there is SOLO LADDER and DYNAMIC LADDER, i don't have 6k, this is a screenshot from someone.

I would play DoTA 2 if they didn't trap me in hour long games. That don't let you surrender.

Playing it showed me that League's 20 minute and under games weren't that bad.

That's one of the reasons I could never get into DotA.

No concede/surrender option.

Ahristocats4 votes

you're probably right, i heard ice-frog saying that no surrender was on purpose because you can't see what a game has if you surrender.

My Waifu Vanilla9 votes

Honestly you can't say a surrender option is healthy for a game either though and that is why I agree that no surrender is better than haVing it available at all times. Maybe if there is a massive gold/tower lead then it should be an option but the surrender option warps everyone mentally.

For instance, since there is a surrender option available you see a lot of ff@20 after like 2 kills (by no means a guaranteed loss) and everyone gives up because "hey the game is "over" in 14 minutes so why should I care and try?" This mentality of just giving up because YOU think the game is over in 10 minutes makes everyone on your team tilt by simply bringing up the fact that YOU think the game's over and that you are basically going to put forth minimal effort for the next 10 odd minutes until 20 (during this time you can single handedly seal your team's fate by unintentionally feeding due to you just not putting any effort.

It's a personal opinion that depends on your outlook. I'm incredibly accurate at predicting the outcome of a match within the first ten minutes. If I'm going to lose I'd rather move on to the next game and just play more games total. That is just how I think.

Some people want to try for the never give up, never surrender come back because that is fun to them. That just isn't what is fun to me. People are different and we like different things.

I derive 90% of my enjoyment in league from lane phase dueling, the actual outcome of the match means very little to me. Is it no small wonder that I'd rather play lane phase as many times as possible?

A Solo MMR and a Party MMR? Separate from each other!?

What a bizarre notion.

I just quit the game entirely, played a couple last games tonight and then uninstalled. Fuck DynamicQ, and Fuck Rito, if they're not gonna bother listening to anyone at all then they're not worth the time.

Boycotting dynamic queue is going to do literally nothing. Haven't you guys realized that everyone playing dynamic queue IS PLAYING DYNAMIC QUEUE RN. Everyone who would "boycott" it is already not playing because their busy complaining on the boards. Not to mention that almost every single complaint about DQ is straight up false.

  1. "DQ is super toxic with all the premades." - Nope toxicity levels are lower than normal games and lower than ever in league history.
  2. "I played with a 4 man and they trolled." - Does NOBODY remember the MASSIVE amount of trolling there was in solo queue? I haven't seen someone afk because they where angry in the longest time.
  3. "Its all about luck, wether you get a better or worse premade than the other team." - As if your solo queue team was not exactly the same way. Sometimes you got a bunch of trolls or people that sucked. Sometimes you got carried. People act like they where in 100% control over their games in solo queue, when they really weren't AT ALL. They where in LESS control in solo queue because of all the trolling and terrible teammates who never learned how to play properly.

1 - Because Riot said so right? RIGHT? Lool. Any credible company will allow external organizations to collect those stats. Stop taking all the stats hook, line and sinker.

2 - Trolling in solo queue was confined to 1/2 not 3/4. So your argument is flawed.

3 - Solo queue was better because even if you team was bad, the enemy team also had a high chance of being bad. So what are you saying lad?

M Dragon144 votes

1 - because Riot stated the stats that they collected, it is wrong? Any group of people who dislike a company can easily call said company a liar, regardless if they are or not. Stop making biased opinions with no facts.

2 - You're making assumptions that groups of 3/4 were just as or more likely to troll as solo or duo q's. I'd argue it would be lower.

Hell, I've seen much less trolling in ranked just due to the new champ select. But that's not apart of dynamic Q anyway.

3 - Isn't this the same with dynamic Q? the enemy team has just as much chance to have feeders as your team. The chances of facing a 5 man premade vs 5 solos is extremely low. The only time this even happens is at high elo, which Riot is addressing.

AninLegions7771 votes

1 - Opinions are not biased. Statistics have been manipulated times without number to make a company do good. You might want to research that to prevent further naive statements like the one above.

2 - I'm not assuming anything. I'm simply saying the chance of losing because of trolls is higher when there are more premades. This shouldn't even be debated.

3 - I'm talking about premades now. In solo queue, because 3 players on both teams were guaranteed solo players of the same elo, there was a high chance that both teams had the same type of players (i.e good/bad). Now with DQ, If you play with premades who are bad/aren't coordinated/lack synergy, there's a high chance that the enemy team is well coordinated and you, the solo player can't do much and will lose. I've played enough DQ games to know that whenever one set of premades face another set, one set has better synergy and will win.

M Dragon143 votes

1 - Just because companies have manipulated stats for their own benefit, does not mean all companies do it. You can't just assume thats the case just because you disagree with what the stats say.

2- [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed] [Citation needed]

3 - I'm guessing you mean a four man premade with one solo vs 5 solo's? I've had over 200 DQ games so far, and have yet to see that. I have seen 5 solo's vs a 5 man premade twice so far, but not 4+1 vs 5 solos. Not to say it can't happen, but it does seem rare. In any case, 4 man premades are placed against 4 man premades. If you're the solo, you have an equal chance of being placed with a good premade as you are a bad premade, compared to all other solo's that exist in your elo. In other words, the chance that the premade on your team sucking is equal to that of the premade of the enemy team sucking.

It's called vocal minority for a reason.

Vicarious1172 votes

That's when it is just a minority, which it is not right now.

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

How do you know? Have you surveyed the lol population with zero bias to get a legitimate sample? Probably not. That being said, I can almost guarantee you are the vocal minority because I see many of the same faces complain while well over 80% of the player base just plays the game (I know weird concept).

Mandang05 votes

-Brings up lack of proof for minority/majority claim -Makes own minority/majority claim with zero proof

Boards logic OP.

PS: Going to spell it out to nip bad replies in the bud: The number of people who post ANYTHING is a minority...and you can call them vocal... yet that says nothing about whether their opinion is or is not representative of a larger body. (No one's on Memes & Games crying about "vocal minorities" after all). Without such a survey yourself, you're in the same boat as the guy you're replying to regarding your knowledge of which opinion is in the minority.

damn. cant wait for that 500 people to make a difference

After browsing reddit, youtube and the LoL forums, I counted about 20,000..... which is a massive representative sample when we take in the fact that it was only about 100 people defending Riot for these choices.

IGotScuttleCrabs9 votes

"League of Legends now apparently boasts a trio of absolutely astonishing metrics. Riot reports that 27 million people play the game daily, while concurrent players peak at 7.5M. In total, 67 million players play the game every month. All of these are enormous jumps from the already huge numbers from over a year ago.Jan 27, 2014"

But hey, that was 2 years ago. Even if you account for players that quit and NOT new players, that'd still be in double digit millions. Even if you just went off the 2015 Worlds Champion viewers 14 million), your 20,000 count is chump change.

This all still boils down to dislikes of something are spoken more than liked things. People that don't care that solo isn't returning aren't posting repeat threads everywhere. So really if you were to just go by your 20k, hell we'll give you 50k that are against this vs the 14+ million that are fine with this then Riot made the right choice.

Masochist7 votes

Exactly. These people confuse a vocal minority for the vastly larger population of people who don't care to comment or go to their internet hugboxes to hear or see like opinions.

M Dragon143 votes

Selection bias, bitch!

BonkMonk3 votes

Do you know what he means with representation sample?

Marshbouy2 votes

thats still a drop in the ocean compared to all the people who dont care much

M Dragon145 votes

Please do! I don't want you in my games. Most likely the toxic ones. If it's not dynamic que, it's something else you bitch about that causes you losses in ranked. Never your fault!

Steven Mcburn1 votes

This post in itself is toxic and an example of what happens when apathy turns to ignorance.

It's one thing to not care at all about bad decisions, it's a completely different thing to bunch a group of people together and say things like "they're the bad apples".

You'd do well in the 1900's as a southerner though, you got the right state of mind for it.

M Dragon141 votes

What, because I don't agree with your view? You want to quit the game because of a feature you find too flawed? Go right ahead. The rest of us won't care in the slightest. Honestly, this system isn't anymore flawed than soloQ. The only people who really get affected is those in high elo, but that's mostly caused from the new champ select, not dynamic que. At least with this system, Riot has acknowledged it's flaws and has proposed ways they intend to fix them. But of course, everyone over reacts, like EVERY gaming community does to changes.

Steven Mcburn1 votes

Here. Don't reply incoherently again, let's just straight quote you and then you'll get it.

"I don't want you in my games. Most likely the toxic ones."

That's like me saying, I don't agree with black people they probably commit crime.

It's the same logic and line of thought. I explained that to you without using a specific example because a specific example is absurd to use. But instead of understanding that, you decided that I was somehow personally attacking you and telling you I was going to quit and rambled incoherently.

And riot is really thinking people like you should just shut the hell up about telling people to quit, do you have any idea how hard the DQ fails to find matches the less people there are? Just truly ignorant and annoying.

Dryditch1 votes

Person 1: makes a voluntary comment Person 2: Based on the statement you just made, you are most likely toxic, as are people who share your opinions.

What part of that is similar to racism? it's an ideological difference because of a statement someone chose to make, not because of a skin color with which they were born.

DarkRitual3 votes

This hasn't worked for the last 3 months people have been doing it. The fact of the matter is: only a small percentage of the playerbase even cares enough to discuss their problems with DynQ. An even smaller percentage will actually boycott. Ranked Queue losing 0.05% of players won't impact queue times much, and their bottom line income won't see much of a dent either.

General Esdeath 3 votes

I do a few ranked games here and there but I'm spending most of my time on Overwatch or Elsword.

Embertine1 votes

is Elsword any fun? I've been looking at it but couldn't decide if I really wanted it.

General Esdeath 2 votes

It's OK, I feel like it's hard starting out now. There are some big issues like pay to win players and p2p connection (lag can be a killer). There are some fun time killers though.

Owatatsumi Kami2 votes

Haven't played dynamic ranked at all since its release. Way ahead of you. Don't foresee myself playing ranked ever again. No point to it now. If I wanted to play with friends I'd do it in normals in the first place.

Unlimited Ninja2 votes

Lmao, you're saying that like every LoL player uses the boards. I don't think Riot will care if a fraction of board users don't buy RP because they have plenty of other people. Dynamic Queue isn't leaving so all I have left to say is get used to it.
