She would have made a great completely new champion release.

Aside from Karma and maybe Galio (since they legitimately are different champions, including in theme), I don't understand why people say this. It's kind of missing the point of reworks.

I'm calling it: when the new Eve is buffed (to the point where she is less reliant on proccing charm to do well) most people will be content with it. Passive, Q and E function similarly enough to old Eve with the new ulti being far more appropriate to an Assassin. Thematically, Eve was never intended to be a weird hybrid pseudo-tank... thing.

The only gripe I have is the movement boost on E not being on W instead. I feel that would make her a bit smoother to play.

Well shit, it's almost like people don't enjoy one of their most played champions being removed from the game.

Crazy, right?

And yet still missing the point of reworks. As a longstanding Eve main it’s sad to see her old kit go but it doesn’t even compare to the new one.

I’ll miss building Titanic and tank because Ravage synergized so well with it, but I understand why reworks happen, and specifically why hers did.

Reworks like the one, say, Yi or Warwick got I understand. They take a champion, sift out the bits that are abusive or unintuitive, and then build 'em back up from there.

Aside from a few superficial similarities, the new Eve really doesn't have much in common with either iteration of old Eve. The way she builds is completely different. Her power spikes are completely different. The way she engages in team fights is completely different. The niche she fills for a team is completely different. Her kit's interplay is completely different (not very ult reliant vs SUPER ult reliant.) Even her damage (frontloaded vs backloaded) is completely different.

The only thing retained is her ability to stalk unseen. While that's certainly an important aspect of Eve, there's quite a bit more to her than that.

Riot could have given us a modernization like they did with Warwick, but they didn't. And that's what frustrates me so much. I'll go so far as to say Warwick-style modernization is what Riot should have been aiming for with all the VGUs instead of deleting champs and giving us imposters wearing their heads like hats.

She gets into less trouble now. Good comment!

I think riot is missing the point of reworks. Players who main a champ want something fixed, not deleted. Riot on the other hand wants something deleted but don't have the balls or integrity to say they are going to delete a champ.

Or in some cases they didnt even want a rework but got it anyway because people complained about the old ones rather than learning how to fight them

I love the new Evelynn. Don't get me wrong, I am sad to see the old Evelynn go, but she just was too toxic for the game resulting in nerfs to many things that were merely outter edge cases, making her too toxic for the player and her team, which really didn't solve the toxicity she brought to the other team.

Since they could give us that would work, they need new Eve. And I am glad that they put as much effort time and resources into her as they did

Her spine does seem broken indeed, have you seen how she walks?
