Why are Rammus players doing this?

I've come across 4 rammus players within 3 or so days, and they, for some reason, like building bloodrazor. Correct me if i'm wrong, but rammus doesn't auto attack hardly ever, so why do it?

I went full crit Rammus once after cinder hulk and thorn mail. Was really fun lol.

Late game, his auto attacks actually do a lot of damage when his shield is active.

Did either of them build a Gunblade?

Rammus' gets a lot of AD from his passive and his E provides armor reduction.

It can make him a decent source of sustained damage so he is actually a threat to more durable targets. Also, it can speed up his clears (and damage to Dragon/Baron/Towers) significantly.

I'm not sure if I would necessarily recommend it, but it isn't a bad item on him. I'd imagine it works in a similar vein to tanks who rush Runic Echoes for the clear speed and damage.

i miss devourer. used to build that shit on rammus all the time. ill explain young one, why attack speed rammus dumps on people. your passive, w, and e basically lets you duel as a 1v1 scenario. that combined with thornmail, witts, sunfire, red smite... you can solo kill people no problem. yes, your lategame tankyness suffers a bit... but just rolling up to most squishies or fighters and just eating most of their health before they can even counter attack is worth every bit of gold.

I would do it if there are 2 other tanks on the team (Top, Support) It was much more common a few seasons ago.
