So what lane does Aatrox actually win against?
I'm actually curious, either i'm just fucking terrible at the game, or just that Aatrox actually blows as a champion all together.

Aatrox blows. Riot's apparently gutted his numbers because a hyper drain tank proved a bit too hard to balance.
Aatrox is in line for a rework. He won't be very strong until then
Aatrox is Poppy tier... no wait I mean Yorick tier... damn. Is there anyone left in that tier besides Aatrox? And shouldn't that make him next on the rework list, before the next Ryze rework?
Aatrox is generally strong against lane bullies because he can just sustain on minions and wait for a gank while always being near full health. By bullies I mean 
He's pretty good against an AFK. He can almost out-duel a caster minion there.
He wins against 
One night I was huffing a lot of paint and picked Aatrox accidentally in top lane and won lane. I guess my enemy DC'ed or something, because I didn't see them for like 10 minutes.
So the answer is "Aatrox wins against top-lane Kayle if he's got 8 levels and 5k gold on her".
Well, to be fair he can 1v4 raptors...
The best champion suited to win duels against non-duelists that are not teamfight orientated.

My friend, you've been playing him wrong all along. He's actually quite the superb jungler. Infinite sustain means he plays like a Yi where you just clear for like 20 minutes straight, then you come out of the jungle level 30 while everyone else is like 7.
I have a singed only account. He seems to pretty decently against singed. Specially if he gets sorta tanky.
All you need to do is just ignore the singed as Aatrox.
Yasuo because Yasuo demands melee range to do anything. Poppy seems a fair deal aswell. The rest of the champs have some form of burst or simple cc to counter his Adc style of attacking.
i personally think aatrox wins lane against quite a few champions. however he becomes trash immediately after the lane phase. mostly because he can outsustain but hes just a garbage champion that can't really do a whole lot.
you can win vs a worse aatrox otherwise he loses i guess
i can get him to work on occasion he doesnt really win versus people. he just takes to much to be good for just a bit
In my experience Aatrox does decent vs a few lanes for very specific reasons, however those lanes aren't exactly popular atm.

: yes this guy is played top lane...he is actually pretty good there. But aatrox will just force him out of lane over and over again (just beware of his gank assistance post-6)
: land E's to prevent garen passive ever kicking in, don't trade in creep waves, and do not relent in a trade. longer the trade is the better for you (unless you are the villian)
he wont ever kill you (he will oom trying), just go tiamat > visage > full tank and shove waves to create more map pressure. Keep track of him top keep him from winning the rest of the map though where everyone will complain about how you never group </3
only lane you max W in, just AA him to death, seriously. But beware of jg ganks, maokai is still maokai when it comes to lockdown
you have to win early, but you can be extremely aggressive in this lane. Just save Q for if he gets jungler help (wither is evil) And DO NOT SHOVE. Nasus will freeze and free farm because you will not have enough room to chase for kill threat on him.
Visage rush into tiamat, rumble will push you in, but is an easy lane to gank between you and any jg worth anything. This is honestly Aatrox's 2nd best lane
: Singed is known for proxy farming, congratz, AAtrox can match it and does a lot more in fights. Aatrox's best lane because you should never miss a single cs if singed and you agree to just perma proxy for each other

Aatrox is a cheesy champion. Tryndamere's slightly less cheesier younger brother. I've never really had much trouble into Irelia

I saw an Aatrox top laner hard carry a game once. To be fair, our team sucked, and I think most of us didn't even know how Aatrox works, but he crapped all over us. It is extremely annoying to have him respawn with more than 1,000 health and kill you after EVERY time you kick his ass. Once he started snowballing he was scary.

Played properly, he wins or goes even in most lanes. The only lanes that are really unplayable is Irelia.
Aatrox is good against poke champs, simply because of the large amount of sustain in his kit. Also, very few toplaners can work a 
into their builds, so not much stopping you. The magical damage his E and R do make it hard to build against him early game, and there are few champs who can out duel a good Aatrox. On a side not, burst champions are very hard for Aatrox to deal with, so its best to ban 
Try AP Aatrox. Its so good in top lane. Your poke with your E is insane.
