Is kayn a bad midlaner?

Im enjoying him and i've had some success with him mid lane, I generally try to harrass whenever it seems like a good idea and farm whatever i can.

Kayn is a bad laner in general. He simply takes too much damage trying to use his spells. The only thing that makes it even remotely playable in downhill lanes is his extremely base damage-heavy W.

He can work in lane like most people, the question is whether or not he does anything valuable that other, stronger laners don't do already.

i play him sometimes toplane, and yeah... he is the most time very weak mostly because he is a mid/lategame hero. but when he get his transformation (toplane its ofc rhaast) he can be very strong. but vs champs who have a strong early like renek or illa he is very weak against.

i always max the w first in lane. in the jungle i max his q first.

but none the less he is and should be played in the jungle.
