leona doesn't poke, but wouldn't one just rather play leona since they end up doing fairly similar things, yet leona is tanky?

idk i feel like you'd REALLY wanna take advantage of the AoE of Liss's W to justify using her over leona in the support role

leona has the defensives that she doesn't i get the ult but leona can engage, boost resistances ,and CC you to hell.

where a lissandra doing that has a very high chance of not only blowing up but steal a considerable amount of farm ive played against alot of liss supports that have mastery 7 playing something like a nami that can ruin her engage leaves her without an escape also with adcs like Cait the odds of an all in are again hard cause setting a trap where the claw goes can stop it short and deal a ton of poke she does work well against low mobilty/CC champs like tahm kench and ashe/sivir as examples

Lissandra has 83.1 armor at level 18, 1781 hp at level 18, and 30 magic resist. She also has 16.3 hp regen at level 18. If anything, it's prob the mana costs.

Leona just outrades her early and more or less ignores her late whenever she lands her E

remember that lissandras W does not stop Leona from attacking

Problem I have with Lissandra is her base damage leaves alot to be desired. We're currently in a meta where high base damage mage supports are what will push the lane down quicker.

Lissandra in her own right is good but she needs items to scale well. Unfortunately bot lane is not a place where supports can get damage item very quickly.
