What if the best player on losing team loses less LP?
Basically the one who impacted the game the most and got the highest letter rank on the losing team loses half the LP they normally would've lost.
Would this be a good addition to the game?

Na that could be abused. I know how to get high letter ranks without impacting the game at all. High CS and a good vision score will always exacerbate your actual performance. You can easily get S's with a negative KDA.
Also, you would need to distribute the remaining lp somewhere else. You would need to make the best player on the winning team gain more or the worst player on the winning team gain less. Or you would have to make everyone else on the losing team lose more. Some how the lp would need to be distributed evenly for the sake of the ranked ladder's health.
Would encourage quitters to "assassin main". AKA only fight the weakest members of the enemy team, and only when certain that they can escape. In order to pad stats and get a better letter grade.
If your mmr is good you are gonna lose lp. Usually if your mmr is good your a good player and you should win more games and when you lose the loss isent as impactful
This. So much this.
There are plenty of sites out there (OP.GG, Mobalytics, and more) that have features like "Carry score" or "MVP" or "ACE" that convey that a player was the best or worst on their team, stats-wise. Performance-wise.
I don't understand why we wouldn't implement something in the game that reflects this, as well.
People should gain more LP for hard-carrying a game. (or not lose as much if the team loses despite their effort.)
People should lose more LP for being the boat anchor. (or not gain as much if the team wins despite their lack of effort.)
Maybe its just me, but doesn't this just seem like common sense?
