Ideas for Poaching Smite: Steal enemy jungler's buffs, or prevent an enemy from Smiting a target

Poaching Smite, I've found, isn't even that good on Nunu, who arguably is its best customer. That shows a problem in its intent. Perhaps jungle invading isn't something to be invested it, so I have some alternatives: jungle objective control and jungle buff theft. Note that these are not meant to be used together; they're mutually exclusive, so take one or the other.

The first option would be objective control. One thing that always ends up irking a lot of people is when someone does a Smite Steal, right? So what if your Smite prevented your opponents from Smiting the same target for, say, 3 seconds? That means you could make that Lee Sin's steal attempt futile (provided you Smite first), as he wouldn't be able to deal that 1000 damage to Baron Nashor at the right second.

The second option would be jungle buff theft. Cast Poaching Smite on an enemy Champion and you steal his blue or red buff! Note that you'd only get it for however long your opponent had left on it, so using it on someone whose Blue Buff was just about to expire will make you look kinda silly. Of course, your opponent could also take Poaching Smite and Smite you back if you did this too!

Any thoughts on these? Or any suggestions on other Poaching Smite variants?

dunno man if that was the case I think everyone would take it to prevent outsmites. I do feel though it needs some changing as poaching smite is lame. Or perhaps removed and a different item be added.

I don't think everyone would go for outsmites, as you might need Blasting Smite to have enough health/mana for ganks, or Chilling Smite to actually catch people. Challenging Smite also has its uses; that true damage can hurt.

True but I feel a lot of the versatility it brings could be more useful. Stopping a jungler from stealing a buff camp or being able to steal it form others prevent baron or dragon for a few secs. Solo q wise It may not get used. But I feel pro players could use that smite so effectively. and late game they could sell the item if im not mistaken and get the poachin item if its better mid and late as clearing isn't an issue by then.
