L2UseTeleport
If you aren't effectively using teleport to win other lanes then you're not playing top lane this season.
Top lane you wanna get ahead early game (level advantage, tower or kilsl by level 6-8) and then focus on teleport ganking bot lane. Get yourself or your bot lane a double kill + dragon and you've pretty much won the game for your team.
Tanky hard CC teleporting in is a HUGE gamechanger if used properly. It's just a matter of adjusting to that play style and making teleport work for you.
Late game transition into crazy strong splitpush using your teleport to re-join your team when needed or to catch enemies out of position and again, you just found a great way to influence the outcome of your matches.
I'm sorry but having to play your lane a single way to have an impact is stupid and not really fun.
The fact that Riot has ignored top lane (honestly it feels so shitty playing up there) for so long it's what gives them a bad name.
There are many ways to play it. Here's a few that still work great.
Hard splitpush. Champs like Jayce, Trynd or even Teemo can bully out their opponents, scale up hard and apply insane pressure. The goal is to bring as much attention to top lane as early as possible in order to make the game easier on your allies.
Hard Roam. Teleport is pretty much required but hard CC or bruiser champs who can teleport around the map and set their team ahead are insanely effective. Gnar, Irelia, Ryze and a bunch of others do well at this. You usually pressure bot lane and try to secure dragon with the numbers advantage
Traditional Bruiser++. Focus on a huge bully like Mundo, Shyv or even someone like Garen. Do your best to throw your opponent around and then transition towards a mix of counter jungling, splitpushing or roaming. With the changes to health regen, health tanks like Mundo/Garen can become nearly unkillable late game. It's a much slower burn but with the increased value to jungle camps it can provide a solid foundation for your style of play.
