Flex = Dynamic Queue of last Season (without 4 mans, at least for now). If you want to be able to play ranked with a group of 3 or 5, this is absolutely the mode for you. Solo/Duo = Ranked as it was Season 5 and before.

Personally, I'm planning on only playing Flex Queue this coming season, even as a solo. It's been my experience that solo players in Bronze/Silver are generally more prone to make terrible decisions, but if they've got a buddy with them between the two of them they can make smarter plays. Smarter teammates is something I think I can use more effectively, even if it means smarter opponents. I'm not the kind to want to dive in and 1v5 solo carry a game, I want to work with a team, so Flex Queue seems like the logical choice.

Riot also made it sound like there'd be a special reward for placing Gold+ in both, so that might be something to shoot for.

So which rank will show on my profile?

FlexQ is Teams. 1/2/3/5 YoloQ is 1/2 only, and demonstrates personal skill.

Play SoloQ, Flex is a joke of a ranked queue.

Personal skill means just as much in both queues. This is a team game. Someone who can get to Plat in Solo will be able to in Flex as well. It is the EXACT same game. Maybe at the Diamond and above elos premades make a difference, I don't know but below that you will have all the same shit in both queues. Feeders, afks, 4 man fuckfests at bot lane etc. The game doesn't magically become different just because the queues have different names.

There's too many boosted monkeys in Flex. It's easy to boost someone when they can stay on their acc. I've seen so many diamond 1+ players boosting people because of dynamic queue and those noobs never got caught. A lot harder to boost someone in solo queue.

It's explained in the 2017 season information about Ranked. Solo/Duo is your main rank being the one that you've been playing through (including Dynamic last year). Play it as you would normally would in the past. Flex is like ranked groups (not necessarily ranked 3s or 5s which were created team queues). This is better if you have a sense of teamwork when playing. Climbing in both (or all 3 if you care for Treeline) gives your additional rewards at the end of the season.

There seems to be a confusion about all this, and i personally cant seem to realize why. Solo queue, is the good old one we all know and love. Flex queue's one and only difference, is that you have the possibility to view the game from a more team based, communicative aspect since, obviously, you can play as a team or premade group. Now, as for the "problems" community claims, flex queue has : Being boosted can happen to both queues. Be honest and true and climb by yourself(or equally skilled partners) ---problem solved. Getting bad members, while opponents are plat/diamond etc. is a stupid thing to complain about, since it happens too rare, and also this possibility can also sometimes work to your favour(you get to have high elo team mates next game). Both ranked queues, level up your skills the same. It's up to you, to define your climb path.

Im gold 3 in flex 5v5 and gold 5 in solo/duo, if I reach platinum in flex 5v5 by the end of the season what borde will i recieve in loading screen once the new season begins. Will i get a platinum border even if i remain gold in solo/duo?

You'll get the boarder of whichever rank is higher between your flex 5v5 or solo/duo, so in this case you would get a platinum boarder!
