Disappointed with the mage update between Zyra and Malzahar

I was expecting something unique for Zyra but instead Riot decided to make a copy of Illaoi TWICE. One for Zyra spawning seeds randomly and One for Syndra spawning Orbs. Why does Zyra have the same ability twice? Her passive and W are the same thing and it bothers me.

For Malzahar, everything was amazing except his ult....when I look at his Ult it reminds me of Doom Bots where a random spell appears. It looks gross and out of place. I was expecting Malz to have a new ult where his pool would be the one that constrains champions. >_>
