It has been a clown fiesta since preseason, and people are losing more and more interest in this game. myself included. are you making these changes to lose your player base? because the fix to everything now apparently is adding more damage. Champion too weak? add more damage. Meanwhile, Towers have just recently been nerfed when we've been asking for buffs almost two seasons? Games are now ending at 20 minutes again like they did at preseason, I haven't played one game yet where it isn't a curb stomp on one side before 10 mins. Riot please, I love this game WAY too much for me to lose interest in it. [katarina-love] ~ Süddenly Résets

Honestly, even as an assassin main who loved seasons 3-4, who liked snowbally games, who liked burst, who liked to just 100-0 someone if fed, I cannot agree with you more. The game has become a complete onesided show. Previous seasons like 3 and 4 had the trend of comebacks even if you were 10K gold behind as a team, now the game is similar to that but in a completely toxic way. Deathtimers are too big, game is too snowbally, everyone has damage including the support (Looking at you especially pyke and bruisers botlane meta) to 100-0 anyone in 2 seconds, heck the tanks have also had damage but not this much so there is now effectively no reason to pick a tank anymore which is just toxic. I hate tanks and all but, not to the point where I don't want them to be viable at all. Now instead of being tanks, they abuse their absurdly high ratios to build damage because this game incentivizes building damage to oneshot ANYTHING. The game is now even more broken than the ardent censer meta because now everyone is an issue. Some advice I would give to Riot Games right now is this. Revert this patch or do some crazy changes to get rid of this meta immediately. For two months get a couple of your teams to discuss the current state of the game and try to possibly emulate similar conditions as in season 4 because as far as I know its the best Season that league has ever had. Balance season 4 slightly (as at least from what I remember it was perfectly fine on its own because everyone was technically viable in some way shape or form, and you can keep the new map and textures if it is too hard to go back to older patches). Adding back old items shouldn't be a hassle either. Get that content in the PBE and try to advertise PBE so as many people as possible come to play on the PBE which is also going to be a lot of returning players which will bring back a lot of interest on this game(which it really desperately needs, there is no other way to beat fortnite's popularity currently buddies). With that, the game will be in a messed up state for a little while, but at least by the end of the season or close to that, there will be big changes for you to add into the game, and it will honestly be better than anything you could do right now.

You're missing the underlying point. People like the OP had fun in League, they want to keep having fun in League, but the game state is such that that's feeling impossible.

The difference is they might be right this time. There's a noticeable up tick in these kinds of posts from what there was a year ago. What's more, the content has changed - most of the old "game is dying" posts were out of anger, the newer ones have a much sader feel to them as players who want to enjoy the game feel like they can't anymore.

No there isn't, literally a season ago, we had the same amount of QQ as there is now, about the balance being just as shit, about the game being just as boring, about the game being just as subpar compared to other season, the QQ and its amount hasn't changed.

You know what has changed, there is a bigger game that is dominating the free to play market, Fortnite, on top of this game being alive for so long that things have changed to such a degree that yeah, there are going to be people who don't like it. Change has to happen and I have been here long enough to remember when the QQ was about how there wasn't enough change, how things stayed mostly the same and seasons got boring as shit. Are people going to like everything, god no, are people going to happy with every change, also no. But you can't expect a game so stay the same forever and you can't discount all the people who said the game was shit and hated the way it was when YOU were having the most fun. I had the most fun in season 2, why, because I played bruisers, the game was my oyster, I could light the entire map up with wards, and people were still bitching back then about how long and drawn out and boring games were.

I want people to stop forcing themselves to play expecting some magical change that will make everyone happy, it isn't happening, the reasons you enjoyed the game are gone and those reasons might be the reasons others hated it or left and why others return. Begging about return won't accomplish anything especially when people can't even come to a consensus on what was the best season and why.

You've become desensitized to it because of its ramp up. Complaints that "the whole season can't be preseason" weren't here a year ago. They just weren't. Yes, complaints about balance were there. Yes, people longing for past seasons were there. Even complaints about damage were there. But it wasn't as frequent as it is now.

At the end of the day what kills League of Legends isn't going to be some new game, it's going to be a string of decisions by the developers that makes players feel like this isn't the game for them anymore. I think League is early-mid way to that point right now, where good decisions can set the game back on course. But if Riot ignores the warning signs and continues full speed ahead then the game won't last for decades more to come like they keep saying they want it to.

I likewise have been in the Boards almost every single day, with the difference being I took about 7 months away. It appears that several other prominent community members also left.

Regardless, I'm arguing you're not remembering correctly and you're arguing I'm not remembering correctly, and we both know it's not worth the effort to count through all the posts made in a year (or even a month), and that the Boards search wouldn't likely help us.

Start with the common ground: too much damage. Lowering damage allows for more time for players to interact with each other mid to late game, and more time for individual skills to show. As a result of that, people will feel better about being outplayed (rather than out bursted), which will improve individuals moral in individual matches and in regards to the game as a whole.

While I've stopped caring about the game after Malzahar's rework

(I used to play ranked aiming to be the best Malzahar on lolskill, but that dream is dead lol)

Its hard for me to try new games because most games that come out now-a-days are first or third person...

I get motion sickness from them within 20 or so minutes.

Its hard to even watch other people play them on twitch

Yeah i feel ya... I stopped playing for same reasons. I just can't seem to find any damn fun in this game. I miss when all champs were viable for play. If i want to play Amumu, or something that's isn't played occasionally, i will lose. And game balance is just jerking off.

said this for months.. everything is dealing damage now top mid adc support jungle and they make everything more flashy and dashy.. might be fun for the pro scene but for the ''average'' player it really isnt. a carry was special back in the day as he was the damage dealer. all roles were unique, now even a tank can outdamage a carry, bruisers doing more than a adc like irelia is just ridiculous for example support, adc, mid, top, jungle.. they are getting closer and closer together to being the same thing, the contrast is dissapearing.
