Suggestions for How to Nerf Yasuo

Disclaimer: I don't play Yasuo, nor do I play mid/top against Yasuo. Also I'm Gold V.

So, what should we do about Yasuo? I have a few ideas!

  1. Weaken the shield on Last Breath if Yasuo has triggered his passive shield in the last four seconds. I understand that one powerful expression of Yasuo's skill is to dodge hits until just before his third Q, take a hit that procs his shield, then go in with Last Breath with a fully refreshed shield anyway. But it's just adding so much tankiness to a character that really doesn't need to be that tanky. In an extended, drawn out fight I have no problem with Yas getting double shields. And if he starts the battle by ulting off another knock up, there's no reason to punish his passive shield. But if your opponent has knocked your shield down, I think that is a window of vulnerability they need to exploit better.

R - Last Breath: NEW - But Watch Your Back - If Yasuo triggers Last Breath within 4 seconds of activating his passive shield, the shield provided by Last Breath is only 25%/50%/75% of its normal value.

  1. Make Windwall less reactionary. Windwall lasts four seconds, it doesn't need to be such a snap cast shield. Give it a longer cast and forming time so Yasuo can't just press W if he sees a projectile that's just about to hit him. If that's a problem, then that's fine. Make it more of a reactionary effect. Sivir had her spell shield duration halved because it was too forgiving, if you want to reward a Yasuo's reactive plays then don't give them such a big defense for it.

W - Windwall: Cast Time - 0.25 seconds -> 0.75 seconds OR Duration 4 seconds -> 2 seconds

  1. Don't punish tanks for a squishy's mistake. The bonus armor penetration on Yasuo's Last Breath should only apply to those who are kept Airborne by Last Breath.

Last Breath - After the suppression, Yasuo ignores 50% of the bonus armor of all enemy champions of enemy champions struck by Last Breath for 15 seconds.

Those ideas are great...Yasuo will still be good, maybe really good in the right hands, but he wont be as annoying as he is now. Hope Riot will see your post.

If you're an actual fencer like me, you'd know that it's more more logical thematically that yasuo's wall stays reactive, not as a zoning tool.

I included an alternative for him to be more reactive with his Windwall.

Shit I can't read

I disagree with the shield part. Most of the projectiles that you block with Windall happen in about 0.5 seconds.

he was designed as an assassin with situationnal high mobility

which is of course toxic as fuck and i'm not talking about viability (which is having a 50% win ratio) i'm talking about IF he was viable it would be fun and challenging to play with and against him in most cases which is not the case atm

he is either an assassin with a complete toxic reach (if near minion wave) or a useless assassin that cant team fight (if not near a minion wave)

to keep his kit close to his lore he should be slightly rework to be a skirmisher (think fiora or camille) which means lower his base damage lower his range damage (bye bye tornado) makes his mobility a bit more relyable increases his sustain health regen and fuckin add a skill check

something like that :

Q spell : no longer requires to hit to charge the tornado every 3 Q a tornado will be launch on top of the normal spell the tornado deals no damage and does not knock up BUT yasuo can target it with his E spell

W spell : new passive effect : wind direction the wind flows in one direction changing every 1 minute hiting a champion with a Q from that direction will knock up
