Can we discuss Maw of Malmortius and Mercurial Scimitar.
Now I fully understand the point of giving squishies a chance to survive and outplay assassins but I honestly hate the MR/AD items so much because by building both
and
an adc can effectively nullify an AP assassins burst and make the champion and it's intended purpose useless.
After playing fizz for a decent amount of time I understand just how much power these items hold over AP champions and my favorite (Fizz). I can't even count the number of times that no matter how well I played and no matter how hard I outplayed the enemy it all became meaningless because it's impossible to burst through those 2 items once an ADC or other AD champion has them.
Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about defensive stats, I'm only complaining about the raw anti AP power these items give to non tanky champions while still giving all the other stats they could want on their champions without any draw backs.
I feel
is perfectly fine as even I agree ADC's need some form of defense against burst. On the other hand
is a big issue imo.
is just too overloaded. You get an Anti Magic damage shield that blocks 300 magic damage base, 50 MR, 55 AD, 10 flat Armor Pen, and a passive that grants 25% Attackspeed, 10% Spell Vamp, and 10% Lifesteal until out of combat.
Hex drinker alone is an item that almost always auto wins a lane between an AD champion and an AP champion, so it seems like Maw is just an item meant to outright negate AP champions all together with no window to really do anything.Of course not to mention both Hexdrinker and it's upgraded counter part Maw are both extremely cheap for the stats and passives they provide.
With everything these items give I think it should be abit more like this: Hexdrinker should not have any base MR at all but in return have the Magic shield increased by 50-60 damage. Maw should have the MR it gives halfed down to 25 and the Lifeline passive on both should be upped from 90s to something that gives an actual window of opportunity like 120s.
My reasoning for the CD change is because the CD is far too low to give AP champions a window to counter attack, because once it's popped both sides have likely used their ultimates resulting in the AP side dying or having to back, then once the AP champion comes back the Lifeline passive is back up long before their ult is even up effectively auto losing the champion the lane unless the jungler can assist.
