Karma shield nerf?

Karma E - Defiance (Mantra) BUGFIX Fixed a bug where allied champions were granted the inspire portion of the shield, instead of half of the defiance damage

This description is really unclear. Is this referring to a bug that only happens sometimes, or one that happens every time the ability is cast? Normally, the patch notes will include the world "sometimes" if they are talking about an intermittent bug.

If this is an always-bug (e.g. it always behaves the "bugged" way, and effectively the tooltip is wrong), then this is a massive stealth-nerf to Karma's RE, making it about half as effective as previously.

I'm nowhere near observant enough to note what value is normally applied to allies when using RE (since the values of shields aren't shown anyway), so there's no real way to know which one it is.

It was a bugfix. It wasn't happening frequently and you probably would never have noticed it

The wording is really unclear. Normally if it's a bug that only happens sometimes, they state that in the patch notes, e.g. "Fixed a bug where allied champions were sometimes granted..."

That's why I'm confused. I can't say I'm observant enough to tell the difference between the ratios when I cast it, so I have no way of knowing if this is a blanket nerf (bug always happened), or an actual bugfix (as would be implied by that missing "sometimes".)

I've edited the first post to make this clearer.

It has probably been bugged since they fixed her E. It used to only apply Inspire on herself, and apply Defiance to allies regardless of them being the main target or not.

yeah I'm not sure either i just described this in another post

RE should apply e shield value + R shield value to initial target that you click, but it has been known that despite the tooltips ambiguity and what scarizard saying that this is what it should do, when you cast RE on a target ally, the target gets the E shield value and everyone else gets the R shield value

this is weird cuz if you have 1 point in e and 2 points in R, you're giving the initial target a weaker shield than everyone else, it becomes irellevant later on when e has more value than the r shield, but early on its strange

the bug fix is either saying that the initial target will get both the e and R shield like it should have been since long ago

or that the initial target is going to always receive the R shield value, which later on will make it a nerf to the selected target who would normally get the stronger e shield in the late game
