Does anyone actually find safe towerdiving fun?

Towerdiving works as a mechanic because it's supposed to be risky. The diver goes into a very dangerous area to try to secure a kill, knowing that they are taking a major risk and can easily be outplayed and die instead.

But when the champions doing the tower-diving are tanky enough to just withstand the tower shots almost indefinitely, then the risk is gone. They can just walk under the tower, eat several seconds of CC and not care, kill 1 or 2 of the champions under the tower, and walk out safely. There's almost no risk, little chance for either side to outplay each other and show their skill. Just a terrible experience for the laners being dived without recourse. Even if they see the diver coming through wards, there's nothing that they can actually do (other than maybe outright abandoning their tower.)

Does anyone actually consider the latter form of towerdiving fun? And, if not, why is it still in the game?

Frankly, I find it to be very brainless and it completely goes against why I started playing League to begin with.

I find it fun when someone is very low under their tower and I'm playing a champion that close the gap really easily.

Really if you're low health then you should just back. Especially if you have no pots.

No, I'm noticing Singed is just having too much fun lately in this regard.

TFW Zed tower dives you with 200 HP and is able to easily tank 2 tower shots.

Or when your R "will attempt to position you outside the range of a nearby enemy turret if you initiate the ability on an enemy standing close to one.". Yasuo Yes, your R just make you more brainless and will save you from your mistakes, so you can towerdive

Personally, I find the issue to be that the Glass cannon is a Glass cannon, is a Glass Cannon.

The tower dives work, because the enemy doesn't have to commit any significant amount of time under turret. They're in and out in seconds. Not to mention that if your tower dove by multiple members, the turret can only target one at a time.

tower damage is very important to some early game outplays and mechanics you can do i lane. and some champions too. however you can tank a little too many turret shots past level 5 lol.

I turret dove a full hp miss fortune as a graves. no summoners used. I got out and tanked a minion wave. I was level 5.. killed her . took an extra tower shot or two. and still survived. its just. stupid.

It's fun--- because you've just won a trade. It doesn't stop being fun because there's a tower there. The risk-factor of a tower might amplify the fun in some cases though...

buff towers

I don't see a problem with it. The towers are there to be an obstacle for the enemy laner and an semi safe place for yourself. It's there to provide with an extra boost of dps incase the enemy tries to attack you in that place, however if there are 2 people there and their combined combat power exceeds you + the tower then you should be killed.

When I play Top Jax or even Top Malphite(post-6) I usually get a kill, sometimes a double kill if they try n tower dive me. It's not supposed to be the riskiest thing in the world. People complaining too much about turrets. If you see enemies or don't have wards, back off if you're under turret and are low. People just want turrets buffed to make up for their lack of ability to make a decision and walk away from a turret. Instead everyone wants to die with the turret..

What is RISK?

Hay5eed1/29/2017, 6:44:42 AM2 votes

That brings to point another problematic issue with towers. The TYPE of damage they do. A turret is a giant statue of an (presumably) ancient wizard, decked out in robes and holding a staff. On top of the staff is a blood red crystal that, when it spies a target, unleashes a singular red bolt that tracks it's target, doing more damage with every consecutive hit.

Now what if I told you that that bolt deals PHYSICAL damage? That's right, the glowing red orb, traveling at low speed and tracking its target, fired from a staff held by a stone statue depicting a wizard deals physical damage, which can be lessend with a simple cloth armor.

WTF. You want to talk about clarity Riot? The wtf is this shit?

No, it's not really fun. Especially on the receiving end.

To be honest, I think turrets should deal bonus damage to champions scaling off %max HP. That way, they wouldn't be broken early game. They would counter bruisers who stack health and no armor, but not tanks who stack armor. And it wouldn't change anything about pushing because the bonus damage doesn't apply to minions.

well it kind of needs to be in the game as its pretty much the only counter measure to things like gangplank top.

why not just have recall cast twice as fast when in range of a tower?

Safe tower diving is my favorite kind of tower dive because the enemy already knows they will die and we will both escape so they just sit there under tower waiting to be killed.

Lord Galvatron1/29/2017, 4:02:38 AM1 votes

Pfft..... in this point in the game if you have 2k+ HP and 60+ armor then tower diving is automatically safe.
