It's not always bad to keep things the same.
I hate to make the comparison but DOTA has not had significant balance changes for years yet it's still might be considered the more competitive game in terms of strategic depth and features that enhance competitive play. The meta evolves organically; in a single patch with absolutely no balance changes, what's considered meta can shift multiple times just because people pick up on a strategy, then that strategy's weaknesses are exploited. This is strategic diversity. Every game feels different because your decisions directly impact the game at every point in the game, including as a 0 gold support with boots and bracers only.
League right now is going in the opposite direction of strategic diversity and competition: it is now catering to bronzes and silvers.

Dynamic queue destroys the integrity of ranked and makes it so anyone can achieve gold by getting multiple buddies to carry them. Season prizes at gold become meaningless and should be moved to plat or diamond. Plat and diamond also becomes much less meaningful since if you had the skill to get gold 1, you're carryable to plat, if you've made it to plat 1, you're carryable to diamond, etc. Extremely high elo games would be impossible to play in as a solo player since it'll literally be a LCS team vs. randoms.

Games becoming more snowbally is good for the people who can't think too much and only like making a few simple decisions after laning phase. For those who liked the game for the strategy, snowballing is terrible because it removes options whether you're on the winning team or the losing team. The game being made too fast makes it feel cheap and like a mobile game that you don't really get into.

There's still features for competition and general quality of life that aren't there, such as a sandbox mode where you can test items or even test for bugs, voice chat (which will soon become mandatory via 3rd party software due to dynamic queues) and built inr eplays. This isn't even anything complicated like stopping AFKs.
