@Meddler: What is your stance on AP fighters?

Diana and Elise are both in bad spots because they do considerable damage while building tanky, thus requiring them to be intentionally underpowered. Meanwhile, Rumble is totally fine because his damage, while strong, is all DoT's, meaning he can't burst you (he also has no hard CC).

I'd like to know what the plan is for AP fighters in general. What niche are they to fill? Will you be making more? Is the classification an area of bad design?

Oh, and if you're interested...

Elise and Diana are virtual fighters.

  • Elise was a mage, Riot nerfed her into the ground, now she doesn't have enough damage compared to other mages (Anivia Syndra Annie Velkoz) and she's forced to be tanky. Also she has poor utility compared to other mages(Orianna Anivia Lissandra).

  • Diana was an assasin, but Riot nerfed her into the ground, now she doesn't have enough damage compared to other assasins(Akali, Katarina Fizz) and she's forced to be tanky. Also she has poor utility/escape tools compared to other assasins (Zed Fizz Leblanc).

Can you see the similarities of two paragraphes?

Note: Kassadin also somewhat falls in this category. He can still assasinate/burst (Not like Elise or Diana) but he's forced to be tanky because of nerfs.
