Add Adaptive Damage Conversion Of Mana go Non-Mana Champions

If a champion who does not use mana buys a mana item, then grant them adaptive AP or AD based on how much mana they bought. Here’s one possible conversion gain one adaptive ability power for every 20 mana or one adaptive attack damage for every 30 mana. These conversions are easy to remember and almost gold-efficient, incentivizing champions to still build attack damage or ability power basic items rather than mana, while not punishing them for buying more advanced items containing it.

Edit: Please excuse my title typo.

If a champ is manaless and wants to buy an item with mana on it, the reduced worth of the item (since you don't gain the mana) is matched by the fact your abilities don't cost mana. So those champs don't need some benefit from buying mana items. Other resource-based champs that are manaless are either Energy or Health (from memory), both have ways to regain it in their kit.

The champ could also buy a non-mana item and still use no mana. Therefore, they would just almost never build a non-mana item.

That's kind of the point though, Otherwise why can't every champ get reasonable benefit from every item? Build pathing and class-tailored passives/actives can have more budget and be more specific because of this form of limitation. Like how Mages don't really want Guardian's Angel, but have Zhonya's and Banshee's to compensate as good defensive items.

Because items themselves are designed for certain play patterns; e.g., Trinity Force is useless on a caster without spammable spells because the procs would be rare. Letting mana items be efficient on non-mana users would open them to use on everyone from Akali to Garen.

Items like item 3100 and item 3078 only offer a small amount of mana, the drawback of cost effectiveness is minimal. In comparison, while mana users can obviously get all the benefit, its not like they always need that extra chunk of mana. So arguably the cost effectiveness is pretty similar. For larger mana items like item 3001, item 3027, item 3025, etc, I'm sure the manaless champs are designed to take into account that those items probably won't be used. My only personal gripe is that Abyssal Mask is one of the three tanky MR items (with SV and AH) and without mana you only have the other two to choose from, though thats more of an issue with general selection of choice and lack thereof.

Manaless champs already have the benefit of little to no resource, some selective item value-drop is a part of that price.

True. IBG + Abyssal Mask Kat sounds toxic to play against. Stonewall with Catalyst and burst with Spellblade.
