Does anyone actually use Poachers Dirk?

I watch many high elo junglers and I do not see this item being bought too often or at all. I'm just curious, does anyone actually use this?

When people counter jungle aggressively, they like to take more than 1 camp. The fact that poacher's dirk has a cooldown is really bad.

Why bother? Poacher's Dirk is way too expensive to distract from the fact that Serrated Dirk is only 350 gold more to buy. Not to mention it's badly designed, forcing you to put yourself at risk of dying to the enemy jungler in his own jungle instead of just ganking and being safer in a 2v1. Plus, what jungler would want Serrated dirk? Shyvana? Nope. Nunu? Pfft. Kha'zix? Oh wait, he's busy ganking the shit out of the lanes. Lee Sin? HA. Same as Kha'zix. No jungler actually wants Poacher's dirk because it doesn't amount to anything for them

Lee and Kha: No, why the fuck would they delay their huge Warrior spike for something that hardly pays out in the end? That Warrior spike could probably get them a few kills/put the enemy behind by itself, far more than Poachers ever would.

Same for any other AD jungler who buys Warrior.

i used to buy it in games where I was dominating as riven. but is so hard to stack that often times I just sold it later and bought the actual dirk :/

This item just gets worse the higher elo you're in. Buying this item is just you setting yourself on a pedestal to be killed. The only "safe" way to use this item is to not gank at all for the duration that you have it, once you do gank you're letting the enemy team know you are willing to go into their jungle and take their camps. This lets them be more cautious, place more wards and be ready to find and kill you when they see you in their jungle. The reason why i say its worse in higher elo is the fact that bronze silver and even gold wouldn't pay attention to details like that in most cases. This item just isn't worth expecially when you're behind and you can't counter jg, It won't even let you upgrade it into youmuus, or anything like that.

Imo, if you are ahead even by a little bit and know that you will be able to venture into the enemy jungle relatively safely and run away like a little bitch, then go for it. Poacher's is 600, serrated is 1100 now. It is a huge risk though especially if the game turns towards your team getting crushed and pushed back immediately after you buy it though. The best way to effectively use Poacher's knife imo is to pretty much forget about it and build another item and only venture into the enemy jungle when you know it is safe. I built it, then went for tiamat and phage, finished boots, and by then I completed it and was able to get duskblade. Don't forget that this item is not excluded to jungles, I built it as Javan top. I did this in a low diamond elo game, dunno if doing nonstaple pro builds like this is viable higher up.

TLDR- Pay close attention to your situation and build path and it could be a save of money.
