Do champion roles actually matter anymore?

I mean really? Do they? I see support champions carrying harder than actual carries. I see ranged adc outplaying assassins. I see tanks going full lethality and taking out adc. Like as a Yasuo main(Yeah hate all you want) it annoys me because Yasuo was nerfed for playing outside his role when Tank Yasuo was born. Yasuo was hit super hard, forced into building crit items or not having lethality upon his ult, his attack speed was lowered, his damage as well. All this because he went outside of what is intended for him. And that makes sense, even though I don't like it, it makes sense. But all I see is people using builds outside of their roles and it erks me because they aren't being nerfed or looked at in the lightest. I mean Jarvan has now become a full blown assassin, forget tanking anything.

This applies to a lot of champions, like Ez abusing the iceborn gauntlet. It gives him mana, armor, a huge advantage with its slow, but he is an ranged adc and it isn't meant for him. And now with these new runes all of the things that are meant to restrain champions have been taken away. Ranged adc get ms to escape any assassins or fighter. Mages have like 60% cdr on their damn ults, which are meant to be high cd because they do loads of damage, but that went out the window. Like does this shit even matter anymore? If not give me back tank Yasuo or make it fair. Yasuo was hit with a huge nerf with the rune changes and is meh right now, as are a lot of melee champions. Like this is frustrating beyond belief.

Roles? Eh, they are pretty flexible right now.

Classes? Yes, classes matter.
