So many Champions and yet not one can....

I've been thinking League has way too many champions in it for awhile now. Some people also seem to be following my base line of thinking, as I've heard recently from Youtubers stating, such n such ability feels like a mini malphite ult, or pantheon ult ect... We all agree each champion should be unique so I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking this. Then today a weird thought crossed my mind. Out of every champion in league, even the items for that matter, Which one attacks/hinders another champions mana/energy pool? While these champions/items would be completely ineffective against a Garen or Katrina for example the vast majority of champions in league would be affected. We have so many different affects in league is it possible that Riot simply hasn't thought about this or is it that they did only to deside that they would never put a champion or item with such abilitys in the game? I ask because I'd rather see that champion that one with abilitys pieced together from different champions. I mean if your gonna go new and unique then why do it half way?

That wouldnt be very healthy to the game.

The sarcasm is strong with this one.

Mana is far more champion dependent than things like health movement speed armor etc. Additionally it would mostly only be effective in landing before mana thirsty champs buy mana items and it would be overpowered in early lane due to the importance of mana rationing for mid especially and be ineffective late where poking is much less mana intensive and most heavy mana users will have huge mana pools that, if depleted at a rate fast enough to cause an effect, would be ridiculously overpowered and bad for mana user gameplay in general

Wit's End originally burned the enemies' mana on-hit, but it was changed because it was a pretty bad mechanic for this game.

And I'm glad there isn't.

Riot has a dislike towards debuffs anyways, they namely only allow CC.

Did the item known as "Malady" do this once? I think it did, but that item's been gone so long that I can't remember.

Doesn't look like it use to take mana.

With the way mana regen works right now this would just straight cripple Mana mid laners, and champion who could do with would be perma'd if made relevant, or just straight garb if he was balanced enough to be fair. If it were an item it would become a must buy on the champions intended to buy it ( and even those who arent) , and thats been shown before how unhealthy that is ( BorK )

Seems many hate this thought i had. Guess Its a good think i didnt mention an ultimate on a 5min cd that breaks an item of the enemy champion hit by it. Still you guys have to admit without adding in new abilitys to the game, and making champions with pre existing champ abilitys the game will grow stale. They've pretty much hit the limit on things they can put in without resorting to such measures. Then again even great games reach their peek and fall off at some point. Look at starcraft for example, or team fortress 2. Both classic great games but no longer hold even half they player base they did at the peak. How many years has league survived falling off again?
