Many people actually think that Katarina has a bad early which is completely false. Ofcourse, she cant kill you instantly in laning phase like Leblanc but in exchange she gets the safest farming skill in the game.

Her q is excellent in farming and poking, and she can stay in safe distance. It will also hit every melee champ she plays against. Also she gets even more easy farming with her w. The next thing is that she has a flash on a 10 sec cd. Enemy jungler ganking you? Just ward+e and you`re safe.

Since you can poke the enemy laner down to like 30% health you can also all-in him and finish him with ignite.

"Muh cc her if she jumps in and she is dead" Many people think that she will be useless if you cancel her ult, but this is totally wrong. Remember her passive? If her team gets her a kill she can just jump on you with her q, w and e (which actually deal some dmg) and kill you.

Also dont forget that she can buy Zhonyas, which means that she can do the following: Jump in -> Ult for 1 sec -> Zhonyas -> get reset from team -> clean up

This champ is just way to rewarding as a assasine.

Also for the people who think that she is only good in low elo, i want to mention the 90% banrate in Korea.

tl;dr Riot should balance Katarina so her Banrate doesnt reach 90% in other regions or she will end like the old Kassadin.

I know that Katarina is strong and probably needs more nerfs. I get it, I do. I hate her too.

But thiis post is full of lies. Her Q is not a good farming and poking tool and her early game does suck (as much as an early game can suck now). W is also only good for farming later on in the game.

If you are going to QQ at least make the QQ right.

If you nerf Katarina is going back to abyss again. She is one of those champions that is all or nothing, if behind she does as much damage as a fly, if slighly ahead she can stomp you with ease. Is the double edge concept in her design.

I still think it is a little much. Nerfs like the passive cooldown are in the right step.

The trouble with Katarina is that there are no real "moments of weakness", nothing to easily exploit. She needs something done.

Actually she has moment of weakness, early game you can easily outrade her if you push her lane to the point that she will be forced to W the minions instead of you and without the Q proc the W doesn't do as much damage early. Unless she gets a kill (or two or three) her lvl 1 ult actually has a similar cooldown than any other mid laner so if you avoid dying on it a god chunk of her power will be dismissed.

Problem is you are matching Katarina against another midlaner that is also an assassin and well Katarina outclass most of them since she can due her full combo on a blink (Q+E mid Q+W to proc Q) however once that combo is done most mages will outdamage her and punish her heavily for going in. Also most mages have some way of cc (most of them in their ult) to cancel katarina ult.

When I'm playing agaist katarina I just buy a couple of extra wards and place it of places katarina most go in order to gank bot or top and that way prevent her from getting the kills and forcing her to face me instead.

As for the new 3 sec passive it really makes no difference, you either get your kills fast or you get blown to pieces. Is only a handful of times I have gotten a reset after I'm long gone from the fight, and if you re enter at low hp anyway my basic combo should take care of you.

I am not matching Katarina against another assassin. I am matching her while in top lane. One of Riots design goals is, and I am paraphrasing here, to always be able to have an effect on the game. If my midlaner isn't great and fed Katarina then Katarina deserves an advantage - she played well and exploited her enemies mistakes. That doesn't mean that I should not be able to do anything against her.

Well, they nerfed her last patch. It wasn't huge, but it indicates she's on their radar. As long as she's nonexistent in pro play and sub ~55% win rate she probably won't get more than love taps.

Clearly you don't main her or play her yourself so it's easy to come up with this stuff. Let me guess though: you just played a game vs a Katarina who happened to outsmart you and your team and carried the game? Also why would anyone just CC her and not finish the job? I mean if you use your precious Crowd Control on someone that you wanna delete completely you probably don't just stun/knock-up/etc. him / her and leave them alive. Or?

Contrary to what R/LeagueOfLengeds would have you believe Katarina does require a little bit of skill, Plus the Death of DFG did nerf her a little bit, not as much as Veigar but still it helped quell her instakills.

It would also need warning particles, letting the enemy know exactly where you are going to turn up and that you are engaging. It would completely destroy her viability, but it adds "counterplay"

Wtf kat does have bad early. You try and play Kat into syndra/ori then come back and tell me doesn't have bad early.
