Can someone explain why people scream at me that Leblanc takes no skill?

JamesTheMage17··7 votes·1,586 views

Leblanc is not a no-skill champion just because she does a lot of damage. She actually takes a lot of positioning and skill that some other champions just don't. Q: Does very low damage if you don't time it right with her passive . The enemy will try to escape you once you turn on her passive, so you need to time it right before they flee. W: Very low range dash. Most of the time you will miss it because you think it will have enough range to hit someone but it doesn't. E: Cannot go through minions to poke the enemy (also has a fairly low cast range) and is slow enough for the enemies to escape it. Also requires skill to make sure they don't go out of the range but you don't get too close to them. R: Requires a lot of clicking and timing with her abilities. You have to remember that when you mimic her E, they will be coming at two different angles and one will miss a lot of the time.

Please stop acting like LB takes no skill just cause she does a lot of damage.

You just described clicking as difficult

May want to think about that statement

Because she takes no skill?

She can easily punish most people in any given circumstance.

Meanwhile people cannot punish her easily at all.

She may have a high skill-cap (hard to master), but she has a very high skill-floor (easy to play) too. Any idiot can play her.

Explaining why she isn't easy VS person who's obviously annoyed at LB claiming LB players are idiots. Hmm.

I'm not annoyed at Leblanc. I stated facts about interactions with Leblanc.

I never said Leblanc players are idiots. I said any idiot can play Leblanc. That's implying she's very easy to pick up, not that all people that play her are idiots.

Your comprehension skills need work, bud.

I'd argue that she's not someone you can just pick up and do well with, but she is someone who is easy to play after you've played 5 games with her.

YOU CANT IMPLY A MAD TONE WITH JUST THIS, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM NOT THE PROBLEM OF WHO IS TYPING IT. if i put (Im mad) OMFG NOOB then you could, but all it is is capitalized letters. no different than lowercase.

Do you mean a low skill floor? Or do i have the terms mixed?

Do you mean a low skill floor? Or do i have the terms mixed?

Most people get it mixed.

Low skill floor:

.
.

``````````````Average (familiar)
.
.
.
.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ floor (unfamiliar)

There's a very large gap between unfamiliar and familiar.
____________
High skill floor:

.

.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In this case, there's a small gap between 'mastered', 'familiar', and 'unfamiliar'. This specific example would be a low skill cap, high skill floor champion. One with very little variation in what they can do based on experience, like Garen, who's only complexity comes from buffering and canceling into auto attacks after abilities.
You may note they said "typing in caps and implying a mad tone". Pretty big difference there chief.
For instance "OMFG KYS NOOB JUNGLER" and "GJ GUYS" are radically different. One implies an angry tone while the other definitely doesn't.
YOU CANT IMPLY ANGER JUST BY CAPS. If they they omfg, then even in lowercase its anger. so dont try to just make out caps to be anger.
LXII3 votes
You're still missing the huge "AND" in their sentence. "typing in caps AND implying a mad tone". It's a two piece statement..
And yes "omfg" in lower case would imply anger, but it would NOT imply screaming.. caps would. This is how written language works dude.
Because she can waveclear overly effeciently. Leaving to roam, overly efficiently. And then snowball carry quite safely, overly efficiently.
I somewhat agree but I'm gonna have to call bullshit on your W and E. She actually has a ridiculously long range dash. The fact that you often miss is due to your lack of skill and inability to correctly determine her range. Also he e has a pretty decent cast range. I'd say around the range of a blitz hook (probably shorter). ALSO 1.5 seconds is not a enough time to escape when both LB and her target are moving at very similar if not same speeds in the SAME direction. Soooo she is a bit broke, and she doesn't require too much skill. BUT, to play her exceptionally well and to master her takes a stupid amount of skill.
Leblanc takes a lot of shill. She s just a bit needlessly oppressive. People who claim she doesn't are just asshurt.
she has only 1 skillshot in her kit, she might not be brain dead but she is not hard to play.
nm10101 votes
Do you rate difficulty on a scale of 0-4 based on how many skill shots someone has?
Actually 3. Her W is a skillshot, you can't say it's not just bc it's a dash. And her ultimate is a skillshot if you use the W or E with it. Technically four.
Kat is horrible in the early game. Janna does 2x her damage in the early game.
There aren't really a lot of champions in this game that take an obscene amount of skill, so the "no skill" argument holds true for just about every champion.
That said, people are just mad, it's a side effect of getting killed in a little over a second with no real options for avoiding it.
Why are you implying that she is hard to play? She is average at best, a very safe mage with high mobility and combo burst and 1 skillshot. I just dont see her as an assassin since I am a veteran player and she was always considered an early game mage that falls of harder than any other in the game. Btw she is quite broken right now because she doesnt even have to hit more than 2 things to burst someone.
Four skillshots. E, W, RE, RW
First of all those are 2 same skills, second its a disgrace to call her W/RW a skillshot...
People don't play her (for many different reasons) and the vast majority think winning lane = winning game. The truth is LeBlanc is a lane bully by design with her scaling locked behind a rather large skill cap. There are also many things, bugs or otherwise, that make playing her outside of lane rather annoying.
R E puts you randomly on the left or right side which is really annoying and can force missed skillshots.
There is a bug where I believe if you rw and w after controlling the clone your w goes on a ~20 second cd.
R Q pops in mid air if you die for some reason (regular q doesn't).
Unlike some other core mobility spells her w can be interrupted.
R R clone is retarded sometimes and will walk in circles for a few seconds before disappearing.
She doesn't get mr per level like many other assassins (due to being ranged), while this is beneficial in lane it makes her very squishy in the mid-late game.
Overall I've had a lot of fun playing her (I have ~100 ranked games over a few accounts) and I think she is in a pretty good spot.
She really doesn't, just except it
Chembaron Yamada1 votes
Playing her above average? Sure, that takes skill. Playing her in general? Don't really think so.
And I really don't understand some points you give here. Her W a "very low range dash"? I think you got no idea what a low range dash acually means. The range is actually pretty good AND you can cast it a second time with her R. That mobility and her ability to go back to her starting point make her extremely forgiving since it is incredibly easy to escape with her.
E: That it can not go through minions... Well, you got free repositioning with your W if you really have to land it. And the double dash on her W doesn't make it that hard to keep the enemy in the leash.
That your Q isn't doing much damage without the passive... Every single skill of her kit triggers the passive and her Q is mostly a wave clear tool anyway. Mostly Leblanc doesn't really need her Q to kill a squishy target.
