It still doesn't excuse the fact that someone is taking the time out of their life to tell someone to kill themselves. I've had MANY people in this game tell that to me at this point, and while I'm desensitized by it, and I couldn't care any less of what they tell me, I still do genuinely care if someone does end up taking their advice and offing themselves.
It may not be an "alpha" thing to stretch someone's e-peen about, you know, genuinely caring for the welfare of others around me, but the people who do tell others to kill themselves represent the community much more than the people who are trying to tell others that the small minority does not represent them.
The League community already has one of the top reputations for being one of the worst gaming communities ever, arguably worse than the Call of Duty community, and it's all due to the vocal minority. There are people who genuinely care about this community improving its attitude, but that seems to be a minority as well, and one that doesn't get enough recognition vs. the ones who tell others to kill themselves, the overly enthusiastic player who will insult others if they do not agree with them, and the people who are just insulting others for absolutely no reason other than to just trigger someone they don't know online.
Look, I agree with you that the "kill yourself" thing that people say here is pretty commonplace, and I mean starting to become just as common as "gg ez", but not at that level yet. Though, I simply can't agree that it should be a small penalty for someone if they tell someone to kill themselves. While they aren't directly killing the person they tell that to, if the person that they tell it to decides to do it and off themselves, it will be blood on the person's hands, as well as on Riot's hands, and I'm pretty sure Riot doesn't need to deal with someone committing suicide over their game because things got "heated".
