Even Rioters are saying it: Banning Yasuo is literally wasting a ban *if you're not bad*

"Yasuo already struggles with being a viable champion the higher you climb, and instead has a lot of his playrate derived from players who devote themselves to mastering him (and even then aren’t rewarded with the typical winrate growth you would expect)."

So the question is: Why are people in ranked banning Yasuo? If you honestly believe in your skills, you should ban real threats.

believe it or not, even in Ranked people want to have at least some kind of fun.

There are three main reasons:

[1] To avoid having one on their team. [2] They don't trust their allies to handle him appropriately. [3] Even if they know how to handle him, they may not enjoy having to do so.

Well, in lower ELO Yasuo still snowballs VERY hard so... Risking a bad mid laner feeding is... not likely.

Although I never ban Yasuo, I do see him banned or picked every game.

However.... Every game he is picked he performs well because it IS low Silver after all...

Nobody knows how to manage him when he is fed :(

People aren't necessarily "Afraid" of yasuo, but don't know how to play against lane bullies in general (hence why things like darius also have winrates that fall off the higher you climb). Instead of directly nerfing the character, can't they just release videos on how to play against certain annoying characters from people who main said character (like have that yassuo guy do a video on the strengths/weaknessess of his character, then have boxbox do a riven video). After all, it isn't necessarily the character that is killing people but moreso the lack of information people tend to have when facing against said characters.

His ban rate drops gold and beyond. Although it's not like Yasuo struggles or is only picked by dedicated players even plat+. About 60% are those with low number of games. His pick rate isn't even low either. Riot has always had an odd way of determining what "dedicated" means.
