akali is a cancer no lee sin does not counter akali he counters her stealth, if she gutted your midder and allows her teammate to engage you wont do anything to her before she eats your adc (ppl call countering akali easy, but the only thing that realy counters akali is the insane overconfidence of akali players, they will fearlesly dive anything without anyone to back em up, if they would play like sane ppl i would be afraid to play this game)

There's another thing that quite easily counters Akali, and that's top laners. There's a reason she does not go top anymore, and that reason can be abused in champion select.

Um no, She can safely lane, still get experience and cs and get kills. I played akali top vs a Ryze, he should absolutely destroy me, still went 7/2 because I helped my mid and jungle. A good akali will still do well even if they get abused in lane.

Her Q does 35 damage at lvl 1....."safely farm". She can farm against other melees, because she can proc her mark, but she eats up lots of poke from ranged champs early.

Alright, let me be a bit more specific. Play a bruiser against her, not a mage. Darius, Wukong, Renekton, and even Garen do very well against her. Regular fighters can do well, but they are a little riskier.

Akali does well against mages and assassins, and so you don't put a mage or assassin up against her.

What? are you even playing this game? Akalis go top 70% of the time.

Akali doesn't even need farm early game she just needs to hit level 6 to kill you, that's how retarded this champion is.

That's why you don't play a squishy champion. If she only gets experience and is zoned from gold she will still be able to burst down a mage, but if she is against a bruiser she'll lose every trade and be pushed from lane. She needs items in order to handle tankier champions.

thing is Riot doesn't balance this game around counterpicks, there's no excuse for Akali to be in her current state when other champions who aren't as bad as she is were nerfed.

If Riot doesn't nerf Akali, it is only right for them to revert all the nerfs to champions that were nerfed for "no counterplay"

There are two possible reasons for her "current state".

She has received indirect buffs.

This could be due to changes in items or other champions, but if this is the case she is indeed too strong. The numbers will show a sharp increase in win rate across all divisions. Riot takes this kind of red flag seriously and will deal with it in due time.

Her counters are missing.

I don't mean missing in that they do not exist, I mean they are not played. For some reason the champions who do well against her are not "meta" picks, and so she is being played in an environment that favors her. If this is the case Akali is not the problem, as the meta could quite easily shift into a position where she is weak again. Akali being strong could actually be what causes the meta to shift as people figure out what works well against her. There would be a sharp increase in win rate, but it would not be across all divisions. Riot would not make any significant changes to Akali, but perhaps might change other details to bring her a little more in line with the meta.

To simply nerf her would be to ignore the underlying problem, and while Riot has made some hasty decisions in the past they have mostly focused their balance team on these underlying issues. All players need to do is have a little patience and work out their own ways for beating her. If one person can do it everyone can, and if not Riot will bring out the nerfs.

Her kit does not allow her to play that way, she is similar to singed. She has 1 play style and that is crazy. If akali is beating your mid laner in lane then you are already in a bad spot because akali is garbage early. She is the queen of roaming, and if she gets far enough ahead then your only option is to travel as a team. She has very poor team fight potential though, she must have zhonyas off cd to start diving and once you get a GA on your adc her job becomes impossible.

Lee countering her stealth is lee countering her only built in defensive ability. Jungle Lee Sin is Akalis hardest counter, it ensures that every gank has a free pink ward and thus a dead akali.
