to kill him in lane? because it feels kinda shitty when he hits level 6 and gets some AP and Electrocute, he oneshots one or both of you with his ult and AOE fist, unless you have a tank support to maybe survive with a little bit of hp for the adc to finish you off? What's the counter play other than killing him or just building defensively?

You're basically getting free pokes without taking any risk and the only way to counter that play style is to have someone all in burst that champ which is what Malph excels in. Other than Xerath and FIddlesticks, what other champion really have an upper hand in lane phase against a support Vel Koz? Not many. If AP malph is going to be nerf, then nerf Vel Koz range as well. It feels like crap playing a traditional support only to be outranged and never able to engage or accidentally get hit by either with his slow or knockup and then deleted by his ult.

stand far enough away from your ally that you both don't get hit by him
his base damages will be high, but as long as you don't int feed him he will be low on gold and scale very poorly. Unless you feed a support (or they're pyke) they will usually have the lowest gold on the team and be the lowest level due to not being allowed to CS.

Malphite has ok poke early but his all in is garbage tier pre 6, he's basically like a worse Nasus pre 6. If you can avoid his Q poke with a shield, or can sustain really good you'll win lane easily, and if Malphite doesn't get kills he's really useless because he sure as hell won't be getting any farm if the enemy has the slightest idea what he's doing.
koshkyra1 votesIdk. My adc (i think lucian) was 4/0/0 and i was (lux) 1/0/4 by the time malphite hit level 6 and then he just facerolled us everytime his ult was up and there was nothing we could do about it. Im glad it’s not meta.
