What's so bad about Urgot?

This is an honest question. I play Urgot Urgot top lane a lot and seem to do fairly well....

Simple solution, I don't overextend. That's what I stick to... Which means I am notorious for freezing the lane. Sure, there are some champs that I just don't do well against, Jax Jax, but --overall -- I do fine. I see Urgot kinda like when I play Kog'mawKogMaw where I have great harass and damage potential, but zero escape, so don't go in HAM.

What is the honest problem with the champ though?
(I'm guessing at higher ranks and such people know not to let you freeze the lane?)

The Reason/TL;DR: I like Urgot a lot, I would actually love to start playing him Ranked, what should I look out for?

Urgot is like Viper from Dota, his job is to win lane due to good ranged harass coupled with crippling the enemies return damage output. His problems stem from his lack of late game damage, short AA range and lets face it crappy ult as well his all over the the place itemization.Playing Urgot, like Renekton requires a fast win before your damge falls off hard.

Poppy level mana problems. Little sustain. Heavily situational mobility. Poor itemization. Falls off late game. Auto attack range that Sivir laughs at.

What do you get for all those downsides? Nice poke and excellent dueling. That's it.

Ah, I get what you mean by that. It's kinda like why TF has a hard time. Great potential to snowball early on, but if your team goes into overtime you really don't do much of anything for your group.

With Urgot, you couldn't go something like Wit's End item 3091 and Black Cleaver item 3071, so your attacks are lowering MR and AR for your team while also having something a little atk and def?

Edit: I usually don't have too much trouble with mana when I grab item 3070.

  1. His ult does not fit his kit.

  2. Itemization is pretty bad on him.

  3. He's almost always outclassed after the laning phase.

There's a reason that his win rate is abysmal at all levels even though he's barely ever used.
