i made a thread about this a long ass time ago using morganas snare and it still exactly the same

not only is it still exactly the same, it's also still extremely annoying

like is there supposed to be counterplay here? i thought assassins with no counterplay was akalis intended niche

its not even the same case with ezreal and kassadin because those abilities dont proc on hit effects and are single part mobility tools whereas ekkos is 1 part dash 1 part blink that he can buffer making it impossible to cc him (as shown by provided video) :/

This is how all CC interacts with cast times This isn't exclusive to Ekko and your title is garbage clickbait

its a short dash and then he blinked to you before your cc connected im assuming. He got the cast off before the cc was applied. I dont see any issue but maybe im missing something

Ekko isn't rewarded for dashing into CC at all. In the video you linked, he isn't actually CC'd when his ability executes, which is when you need to land the CC. When he presses his dash butting, that's the cast of his spell, and it will finish regardless of what happens, because that's what spells do. The only thing that would stop him is death, because the whole sequence of tumble->blink is a continuous spell action. It's like how if you CC Camille while she's hooking into a wall, you don't stop her flying away, but you will CC her when she resolves the action and lands.

The problem is not just Ekko.

Riot has decided that any time CC is applied mid-dash or mid-blink the cc will be applied after the dash or blink is finished. The kicker though is that the duration of the cc starts to tick down the moment it hits, and not when the champion actually suffers from it.

This means there are dozens, maybe hundreds of abilities that are completely impossible to stop, using cc.

But wait--it gets worse: knockup and displacement effects are immune to all normal rules regarding crowd control effects, which means they CAN be used to stop dashes, but not blinks.
