how do you freeze a lane

I've been playing game less then a year, focusing mainly on top and sup right now, and one think I've been having difficultly with is freezing lane. If I can get early kill, espically top, I don't want to let them tower hug. I know it makes it hard for them to cs and build gold, but constant pushed to their tower leaves you super open to jg/mid ganks, and makes it hard to capitalize on an early lead.

How do you make it so minions wave meet and clash in the middle of top/bot, so that your mid/jg can get a kill, or to give yourself. Fighting room if they miss position themselves

My basic knowledge is this: Wait for enemy wave to be big and push to your tower. When your minions are dead, hold the line and tank those shots like a man just before tower range. Your minions are now there to hold the line. Last hit (only attack to kill)/ accordingly attack if enemies are attacking to hold position.

More advanced techniques unlocked by better players than myself.

Ration how many minions you have to how many the enemy has and adjust how fast you cs accordingly.

If you want to push up, cs faster.

If you want them to push up, cs slower.

If you want to freeze, cs as fast as they are.

You get four ranged minions extra to create an unlimited freeze outside your tower.
