I have a feeling people would flame less in ranked if their rank wasn't used as an argument.

Think about it - even if I'm trying to climb to a point where I don't feel like Bot is EZ-mode no matter who I pick, why exactly would I feel the need to get really pissed (other than the wasted time) at a loss due to something stupid like "Hey yeah lets all file one-by-one into their frontline"? The answer, other than "you wasted my time" is "my rank is my validity" - which is something often overlooked.

If people want to contribute to making League less toxic, make rank matter less when people bring an argument up please. That way, people in the end have no reason to feel like losing a game they really can't do much about has an impact on their personal validity. Agree/disagree with what they say, not their rank.

Edit: this could even extend to individual matches, but I say that as a pseudo-victim to people trying to dissect my match history even when that has little to do with what I say.

Um, excuse me, I was carried to platinum by friend in duo queue so my opinion means more

The only thing my rank indicates is whether or not I'll be getting a skin at the end of the year. When people bring up that I'm currently silver 2, or that I've been gold 5 for the past 4 or so years, that's what I tell them.

People that check match history or player history or whatever think they're being resourceful, but what they're really doing is being annoying pricks that will find any reason at all to flame, whether they flame enemies or allies.

That, or how much effort you put into getting your rank. If I had the time and maybe a bit more mechanical skill, I could probably be at least mid-silver. I just don't care enough.

I mean when you go around being a dick to players that are higher rank telling them that they “don’t know how to play safe” when while in silver/gold they were 2v1ing....

People tend to look you up.

Silver is easy to climb through, if you know what you are doing.

Agreed, but more so stop thinking that because you have a low rank you can't give an idea for balance.

Somewhat valid reason, but like the devs said " don't listen to chat "

I'm talking about the boards in general.

Using ranks in an argument isn't entirely a bad thing to do.

Well, except it is. I made post a few years ago, where i complained about Yasuo's Windwall being too strong and risk free. People disagreed with me left and right, even though all my points were valid, not only because they all most likely were yasuo fanboys, but the Argument against my reasoning that got brought up the most was that "a silver player shouldn't talk about balancing". Later that day another Person actually agreed with my opinion and reasoning, said person being Diamond at the time. Alot of the other people that disagreed with me before about the same thing, suddenly agreed with that Person, just because they were Diamond.

To clarify, I meant if you are literally Bronze IV to Broze V, that is a significant factor in the validity of your argument if they mention it.

And tbh I'm not surprised because you said wind wall being "risk free"

There are plenty of reasons other than lack of understanding of the game that can cause a person to have low rank. Mechanical skill (reflexes) being one pretty easy to demonstrate example (you can have perfect knowledge and understanding of the game, but if you can't play it well because of bad reflexes, you're still going to be low rank).

Thats what they say until they use that same reasoning in they nerfs and buffs

I was once put up against a Challenger Riven as first time Shen in a Normal. 3 People of my Team already expected me to loose, just because the difference in Rank. Now here is the thing.. i would have won the lane if i would have had experience in playing that champion, since said Riven did not seem to have any experience playing Riven either. Another time i was matched with 2 Platinum people, one of which was the adc i had to Support. Said adc was constantly bragging how good he is, "because he's plat", while in my opinion he played more like a Gold at most. Luckily, his Ego diminished to a pile of Dust at the end of the game.

Ranking deosn't mean anything, not with the kind of Ranked system we have right now.
