Nunu Ice Blast Rework Concept

##E - Ice Blast:

Nunu starts making a snowball by rolling it around in front of himself. He has 10% reduced Movement Speed and walks towards the cursor during this time. After 1 second, Nunu finishes a small snowball that he can pick up by recasting. He can either place it in a nearby location for later use, or he can throw it at a target enemy, damaging them and reducing their Movement and Attack speed for 2 seconds. Nunu can have up to three small snowballs placed at a time. After 2 seconds, Nunu finishes a large snowball that he can throw in a target direction instead. It deals 125% damage to the first enemy it hits and stuns them.

Nunu can quick cast Ice Blast to throw only a chunk of ice that deals 80% damage and applies a weaker slow. Ice Blast refunds 20 Mana and 40% Cooldown when quick cast, and is set to a 2 second Cooldown when interrupted.

  • Cost: 80/85/90/95/100 Mana
  • Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds (starts after he throws the snowball)
  • Damage: 80/120/160/200/240 (+0.8 Ability Power) magic damage
  • Ice Slow: 60% decaying over 1 second
  • Small Slow: 60/65/70/75/80% decaying to 20% over 2 seconds + 19% (+1% per level) Attack Speed slow
  • Large Stun: 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9/2 seconds
  • Throwing Range: 600
  • Placement Range: 300 (Snowballs have a short Cooldown before they can be picked up again)
  • Throwing Time: Nunu has 2.5 seconds time to throw. If he doesn't, the snowball disappears.
  • Bullies!: Enemy champions can destroy placed snowballs by stepping on them.
  • Roots: Root effects "pause" Ice Blast's channel time. Nunu can continue making the Snowball after the root ends.

##R - Absolute Zero:

  • Attack Speed Slow: 25% --> 19% (+1% per level) (unchanged at rank 1)
  • (NEW) Passive - Snowday: Enemy champions hit by snowballs and Absolute Zero drop lumps of Snow nearby. Nunu can collect them by walking over them to restore Mana. After collecting two lumps of snow, Nunu's next Ice Blast starts out with a small Snowball instead (Quick Cast equals small Snowball, 1 second channel time to large Snowball).

This gives Ice Blast layers of strategy so Nunu's gameplay can match his playstyle. Ice Blast now has a risk-reward system that requires preparation and foresight. Nunu loses power when he mindlessly spams E on enemies and Ice Blast now has a channel time, but he can gain a more powerful early game slow, a more powerful late game Attack Speed slow, the ability to prepare multiple Ice Blasts for a fight, and a stun in exchange. The stun is best compared to Morgana's Q, just that it has a lesser duration because it's a stun, it has half the range, and it has a long channel time. Because of that it should work best when playing as a Warden.

I like this a lot. It would make his e very complex and give the nunu player a lot more options while also giving his opponent more opportunity for counter play. It does seem pretty overloaded for one ability though.

I had to rewrite the description like six times to get it this short, so yeah it's pretty overloaded. But some of the information given here wouldn't be given in game, as those descriptions are generally shorter and you have re-activation descriptions. And the extra info would be grey, italic and smaller so it wouldn't look so cluttered.

Yeah I'm sure they could make it work. They could even possibly make it so that one of his other abilities interact with it somehow. Like perhaps he would need to use blood boil on one of his snowballs to make it into the large one. I dunno I'm no nunu player :P

Nunu needs a hunger mechanic.
