Pantheon rework concept

Chaos Milk Tea··9 votes·1,867 views

Writing more rework concepts on lunch break. Maybe this will become a regular thing.

This pantheon is a top lane Duelist mostly

Passive: Aegis Every 4 basic attacks pantheon gains a shield in the direction he is facing. If he takes damage from that direction it is reduced by 60% and the shield disappears

Q: shield bash Pantheon performs a small dash, damaging enemies he bumps into. If his passive is not active, pantheon puts up his shield. If his passive is allready active, pantheon stuns enemies he collided with.

W: throw a damn spear Pantheon skill shots the hell out of his spear. It is lobbed, striking the earth at a point and dealing damage +slowing enemies hit. Pantheon can pick it up either for a partial mana/cdr refund, or maybe an empowered auto.

E: no good ideas. Sorry.

R: The big jump The circle closes faster if you meet a condition. Like maybe if there are more enemies in it or if they are low health. Just a simple way off adding skill to an iconic ult.

Pantheon is in dire need of a rework. His kit is just so stupid. Linear gameplay.

0 skillshots top lane caster whos impossible to lane against.

Falls off so hard that if you dont win before 20 you lose the game.

Imo I think Pantheon should be turned into a resourcless weapon swap champion with a spear skill shot.

Straight off, I love that passive. Good shit. Counterplay. Not stats. Things you can use to your advantage and play around. That passive alone is worth an upvote. GJ.

i like this alot, his suggested W is kinda like Olaf axe, maybe make it so while his W is on cooldown he pulls out a gladius for quicker attack speed (flat +% AS boost) but shorter range and have he use is spear when W is off cooldown with longer range and base attack speed (+ items, runes etc)

is R could be larger based on distance?

personaly i like his current E

also half of his kit deals magic damage is this a problem or should AP pant be a thing? / a huehue thing

I definetly feel the spear deserves more depth than I have it. Ill probably give him another pass tomorrow. I read a lot of good feedback on the spear.

If his passive is not active, pantheon puts up his shield. If his passive is allready active, pantheon stuns enemies he collided with.

This is actually pretty interesting. I like this.

I've always thought it would be cool if instead of his passive just giving him a shield, it made him take a defensive stance for X seconds, reducing damage from one direction like a rotating Braum E. It would mean Panth has to play around getting his passive up at the right moment to trade, and his opponents would be able to clearly see his windows of power.

Passive: Awesome idea, I'm concerned about how gracious Riot would be with directional. Is it within 45 degrees in either way in said direction where they would be willing to let it count as "hitting him from that direction", and if so, would this make it frustrating to deal with?

Q: I absolutely love this idea, it would be great to integrate his passive with this ability, and it would also make him more interactive, as the enemy would be given the opportunity to play around him strategically and think when he does or does not have his shield up (and the capabilities he unlocks in these circumstances).

The rest of it I like honestly, would be pretty cool.

his E should be a charge like Hecarim where he charges with his shield up and spear downward like a true spartan. Then when he collides an enemy, it knocks em to the side.

He takes less damage when his passive is up as he charges into the enemy or he can avoid one AA shot/Spell.

I have a feeling that when the rework pantheon he is gonna be another tank.

He would certainly be more defense oriented than he is now to fulfill the spartan theme. At the moment Pantheon is pretty much an assassin. He locks down one person and murders them instantly. I expect Riot would turn him into a duelist like Riven who tries to outplay you with CC and momentary defenses.

lololol I just realized I got his spear and dash in the wrong order compared to his live kit. Oops.

This sounds a lot like J4

That passive, dear lord... I LOVE IT. It's no longer pointless vs mages since you could block some spell damage, but it isn't a general buff since it is directional which means stand your ground or get nothing, classic Spartan.

The only thing I would say is add a little bit of extra conditioning for some things, make the shield status linger briefly so that while you're going in your stun doesn't instantly get cancelled by any stray damage source because it's pretty easy for anybody ranged to just slap it off of you before you get close enough, or even doing it just as you get into range so you expect a stun and instead you get, well, nothing. This also means people don't have to learn how to point spin in time with incoming damage in an attempt to preserve their stun while losing more ground to kiting.

For Heartseeker Strike (E) I would say maybe replace it with;

Ring of Spears Pantheon throws a handful of javelins to an area after a brief delay, creating a ring that once entered cannot be left by Pantheon or his foes. All attacks on targets within the ring, by targets within the ring will be critical strikes for modified damage. Can crit to full effect if the attack would crit regardless.

Preserves a bit of the old Pantheon with the crits, but make the damage reduced so they can't fully abuse IE like most champions could with 100% crit, and really enforce the "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me" brawler mentality. Pantheon wants in that ring with someone that he can out-fight crits or not, but if he commits into entering the ring he has to stand his ground until it drops and he doesn't want to try to take on too many people at once since they will all crit him. Of course with the potential power of a 5 man trap the CD would have to be sizable and/or have a high mana cost a la Veigar E.

first thing i would recommend for a panth rework is to get rid of the mana. panth should have somekind of rage mechanic.

second thing is that i've always found his ulti to be difficult to use. the charge time is too long. and it tends to not be very rewarding. so maybe a rework on his ult could do him justice.

and maybe you could do a thing where he scales off of armor or maybe hp on his stun and his ult bc it's just weird how those have ap numbers

so people usually compare panth to leonidas right? maybe top lane could be his own thermopylae where he can solo siege vs 3. that could be a thing you could do for his ult. or maybe even his passive.

you could also take inspiration from the illiad, where pantheon uses some kind of trojan horse mechanic. i just know his spearthrow reminds me of achilles from that movie, troy.

sidenote: achilles in troy does this sick jumpstab with his sword and his spear. i'd love to see panth do the same thing. maybe you could even give panth a short sword?? :))

Passive: Lets go with your new idea.

Ideas for a interesting

Q: Sword & Board / Spearwall.

_On activation Pantheon sheathes his spear and draws his sword, reducing his attack range but increasing his attackspeed dramatically (burst or constant?). Reactivating it causes pantheon to switch back to his spear, increasing his range, activating his passive and giving him him one spear throw on auto. _

Obviously it would need a decent cooldown, or a hefty cost so panth isn't encouraged to spam it.

W: Shieldbash, Shieldstance

If Spearwall is active, Pantheon dashes to target enemy stunning them for a short amount of time, activating his passive if he connects with a enemy. If Sword & Board is active, Pantheon enters a defensive stance slowing himself but reducing incoming damage (passive can't proc during this or it might be easier to make it a X duration of his passive instead of fizzling on the first hit).

Obviously the cooldown would be shared to avoid a cheesy double skillbar, but it would open up some interesting choices for Panth.

E: Flurry of spears, Heartseeker strike

Passive pantheon's Spearthrow and autos crit enemies below 15% health. If Spearwall is active, conebased AOE that applies a small slow. If Sword & Board is active Pantheon's auto's can crit enemies below 30% health (scaling to 30 with levels?).

R: Mandrop, in all honesty I think his ult is fine as is.
