"Diversity"

But everyone plays Caitlyn because being safe and passive is more rewarding than high risk. It's not the meta shifting, its people playing behind a shield of passivity and uncertainty. This mentality shortens skill level, reduces champion pool, and thus disregards diversity.

Edit: This isn't a Caitlyn QQ post. Caitlyn was simply an example. Seeing as how much attention it has amassed it is evident that she is a problem.

Just another "Rito nerf Cait pls I dunno what CC is" circlejerk thread... Nothing to see here.

found the caitlyn main

Support main, darling. I've crushed many Caitlyn's dreams with my Nami and Sona, I don't see why others can't. Might just be a Gold and above thing though.

Guess even support mains can be toxic

I find that low ELO players try to bandwagon on the notion that a champ is game and meta bending OP so they have an excuse to not be able to climb, see Zed, Caitlyn, Twitch might become the new one, old Rengar, devourer junglers (might have some merit here, but you can just pick another one to counter theirs).

Certainly difficult to press Q or R on Sona. Nami bubble may be hard to land but a spell that damages and heals from the click of a button? Must be glorious.

All you did is provide 2 supports that fit the un-diverse description in the original post.

By that logic riot should just stop buffing and nerfing champs ,cause you know ,just cc them...

There's nothing that will prevent players from picking the safest champions.

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

safe should render less reward. the opposite is true currently.

Dengeden1 votes

The opposite is true ALWAYS. There is ALWAYS a safe pick that people go for because "safety" is relative.

A champion can be safe because they can farm to win, or because they can push to win.

High risk, high reward champions like Draven are then discouraged by either enemy range or ability to escape (Caitlyn, Ezreal). Draven then becomes a high risk, no reward/little reward.

Dengeden1 votes

Or it becomes low risk, high reward Draven if his support and/or jungler can protect him while he rightclicks you to death.

Every game has camille and yasuo cancer.

ofc everyone plays cait she is fucking retarded and has one of the lowest skillcaps. She has pretty much 0 risk only reward compared to other adcs.

Spaceman5pff1 votes

She has a low skill FLOOR. What this means is she is braindead easy to pick up and be useful with.

She has a medium skillcap, there are a couple difficult tricks and cancels to pull off.

Yeah, I also noticed, it is way harder now to bash botlane alone, without ganks from our mid/jg it is pretty much impossible to do it.

I want my flat armorpen back. item 3070 Draven

Well, you could play another champion, feel like you are going hardcore af when you make outplays, while you could instead pick the lower-risk champion and get the same rewards for less trying/risking.

riot's idea of diversity is having a bunch of white guys with different colored hair wearing differently angled fedoras

Spaceman5pff1 votes

And then they invite a black guy from a town over and pay him to pose for the picture that that gets put up on the front of their website.

Yes because believe it or not, late game hypercarries tend to want to play it safe until late game. High risk is too risky when 1 kill is enough to snowball the game to defeat and thus rarely worth the reward.

Is this game finally at the point where farming is considered a low skill activity? How does passive play shorten skill level and reduce champion pool?

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

Late game hypercarries are spiking substantially early. So early that lane bullies/early game champions are being drained out.

I didn't say farming was a low skill activity because that pertains to every champion.
