are you for real? what kind of thin-skinned child would interpret "oh, this guy doesn't feel like playing a GAME WITH ME" and go "oh my fweewings are hurrrrrt" if they are truly a friend, they'd understand there's a difference between friendship and wanting to play with someone. I have people I like better than the people I play with, but do I play with those people I like? NOpe because they don't take the game even semi-seriously.

Your friend might be lonely and have problems socializing. Play with a normal game with them and talk about their life, mostly listening while guiding the subject toward whether they have enough friends and know how to make and keep them. If a breakthrough happens, give them the best advice you can and tell them to see a professional for more. You could change their lives. :)

Yeah, I have a friend like that. To make matters worse all my other friends I routinely play with don't like him. Hurts to have to say I can't play with you tight now because you've made all my other friends hate you.

Isn't it kind of general consensus that un-messaged invites and or invites from people you don't regularly play with are kind of just leisurely?

I mean if I am just throwing out invites to fill up a team or custom or whatever I don't give a shit if someone declines, just the same I don't expect people to care if I decline their random invite. Sometimes that's just what you do, spam available people on your list to fill spots, it's not like they have to be someone I que regularly with, isn't that the point of a friends list/folders in a friends list?

Edit: Maybe "spam" is the wrong word to use, but you get my point.

My friend thinks he's the 2nd coming of faker whenever he picks up a champ lol. [WARNING: RANT COMING] Now he thinks he's a better Lux than I am even when I bring up my 85% win rate I had with her while I was still playing ranked (I got too tilted as support/jg and wasn't getting mid in most games back when draft pick was the only way to play). I still show off whenever I do get a chance but I'm not going to pretend I didn't cap at gold before dropping ranked like the bad habit that it was. It just irks me when he gets full of himself when the highest he's gotten is silver 3 with a duo who is high gold- low plat.

I understand entirely. My friend is the same way, its sad too because he is a good player but his attitude is what holds him back. He'll blame everyone else for his mistakes(tries to low key blame me for dumb shit, or if I say it was my fault he'll make sure I know it is) and he only ever got as high as he did duoing with me. Duoing with him is fun and all cause I get off on salty people but he was holding me back real hard, once I started to solo I made it to gold for the first time and it t'was great.

Im sorry if all that seems to be jumping to multiple topics, I just woke up and thinking and writing arent quite there yet lol

I used to have a friend, or someone that I played with all the time. I ended up blocking them, and I was able to enjoy playing my game again. I am not a huge fan of toxic people. I am toxic, but its towards myself messing up on a play. Not getting mad at other players, and trying to belittle them. Best thing to do is block them, and just continue playing. I mean, whats the worse thing that could happen lol.

i understand what you mean and i encourage everyone to play with their friends! however, sometimes i would like to play alone or with a different group of friends. my situation is that i have a handful of friends from uni that i don't particularly want to play with all the time but i don't want it to effect our relationship outside of the game. i totally agree with you though.

How hard is it to just tell them you don't want to play? If it's some random person I met in a game and added I just tell them I want to play solo.

In my circle of irl friends we all just communicate and just tell each other when we want to play or not.

friends: hey wanna play an aram/duo/flex me: not right now friends: ok cool let us know if you want an invite later and vice versa

as opposed to the following scenario: friend: wanna duo? friend: you there? me: queues for solo queue/closes client

which do you think is going to make things more awkward? even with friends who are lower ranked than me I just straight up tell them I'm not interested in playing ranked with them and they're fine with it

Just communicate people... and if people get upset with you for being honest and polite then fuck them, they're not worth your time.
