Rioters should make up their mind as to what role/purpose they want a champ to fulfill instead of making that champ the Jack of all trade, master of all. I rather have the single abilities that focuses on duels and aoe dps/cc instead of having a single dps tank assassin bruiser make the play for an entire team. Team plays should be synergized by all 5 members and their champ's compositions not by 1 non support champ that has an ability to buff an entire team.

That's what Riot likes now. They even remake old champs to fit that model.

Not really, from what I've seen reworks don't end up in massively overloaded kits since they're based upon the old model and the feel of the old champion (Darius being a good example).

New champs that start with a blank template is where riot is starting to fuck up because someone just wants to have it be everything at once and you end up with a template that's scribbled all over with a huge load of shit.

I feel sorry for players who like playing newer champs because they usually end up being dumpstered stat-wise instead of being given a second chance in the form of a rework where riot gives a damn about solidifying their role. Azir Azir AurelionSol

Sion functions nothing like his old self.

Neither does Poppy.

Skarner looks completely different.

Mordekaiser was made into a melee ADC with a ghost dragon and a passive that lets him ignore XP restrictions.

Fiora got a brand new ult that heals her entire team. As a non-support.

Ryze got a team teleport.

sion, poppy and morde arent overloaded.

fioras kit is only loaded because shes intended to be a squishy melee adc with high outplay potential.

ryzes ult is pretty crazy, but not crazier than pantheons or tfs ult. its a teamwide short range teleport that is telegraphed enough to react to it. in fact it can massively fuck his own team, if the enemy team immediately focuses aoe abilities on the arriving champions.

like a viktor can drop his w into the circle before the teleport occurs, and will probably at least stun 1 or 2 of the arriving champions or force out a flash. just one example.
