Yeah you could have bought zhonyas/stopwatch to cuck him but you didn't. So lets nerf a champion because you didn't bother to buy items to counter him and he got a quadra vs 2 supports, 2 immobile mages and a rengar, in an ARAM game.

For your information, THE CHAMPIONS IN THE GAME ARE BALANCED AROUND SUMMONER'S RIFT, AND NOT ARAM MODE.

Holy shit the boards is a mess.

Kurt Hyzan7 votes

Did he bother to buy magic resist while being behind ?

Automated Riven10 votes

It's Aram. Behind is like 800 gold or something.

Bârd7 votes

I checked this game.

op.gg says his highest multikill was 2.

Take that as you will.

Nut on my Butt15 votes

Oh wow, a reset champion stringing together multiple kills in ARAM. That's totally unheard of and never happens.

Also, you're showing the KDA's as if he's behind or something, but it's ARAM, you're both the same level, he has two full damage items and you have no survivability in your build whatsoever as a squishy champion. Obviously he's going to cut you down if he gets in range, there are several champions who can do that.

Anin7771 votes

So he isn't busted in Solo Q? Dude's the fourth most banned champ currently.

Marshbouy8 votes

Where in Daddy Issues' comment did he say that he wasn't busted in solo Q?

OP is using ARAM to justify nerfs to a champion on SUMMONERS RIFT.

Sadly that's not how balancing items champions works.

Anin7771 votes

OP's comment is making it sound like it's only an ARAM issue because it's not. Ofc ARAM isn't to be used to balance but the underlying message is that the champ is busted right now.

Marshbouy1 votes

He's commenting about how the gamemode ARAM affects how well Yi does in ARAM.

It is a true statement that "being behind" in aram is only a little bit of gold. It is a true statement that any champion with resets does well in ARAM.

You're reading too far into this.

Anin7771 votes

Not reading far into anything. What's the point of bringing up that it was in ARAM? The post was meant to make known how busted Yi was. The dude I replied deflected the point to something else.

Marshbouy1 votes

... ... Daddy Issues is explaining how the gamemode ARAM effects champions such as Yi. He does this by pointing out that yi being 3/10 in ARAM is mostly meaningless because of the high passive gold gen and low kill gold. He also points out (in a sarcastic way) that champions with reset abilities always do extremely well in ARAM.

You can't translate the "broken-ness" of a champion from one gamemode to another. If that were so, then Lux, Sona, Xerath, etc. should all be gutted on SR because they're extremely good on ARAM.

Anin7771 votes

Sigh. You're obviously intentionally missing the point. Good day sir.

Sleepcoma1 votes

doesn't mean hes broken though, zed has a high ban rate and hes pretty bad lol

Anin7771 votes

"He's pretty bad" Says who? Good Zeds are having a field day after the last few patches.

Jinzo Torrance14 votes

Even if you ult him as Malz he just get QSS and shits on your 18 base armor ass anyway

Sleepcoma2 votes

ok if he has a qss why in the world would you ever ult him??? your basically wasting your ult. now you know how playing assassins feels against zhonyas

Bârd10 votes

Alright, so here's some context.

The lineups were as follows

MasterYi Caitlyn Warwick Vi Jax

VS

Nami Velkoz Zoe Thresh Rengar

  1. You have seven forms of hard CC. You could have very easily locked him down.
  2. Had Thresh gone tank or Rengar gone bruiser, you would have had a front line.
  3. This Yi is summoner level 17, and I can tell from his builds in prior games that this is not a smurf. Dealing with such an inexperienced player should be easy.
  4. At no point did this Yi "one shot your entire team". His highest multikill that match was two. That said...
  5. If this Yi was any good, your builds were terrible enough that he COULD have killed you all. Not a single armor item across your entire team.
  6. This Yi LOST.
Pika Fox7 votes

Youre playing in aram. Yis only useful in aram because you cant make a teamcomp yourself. You got a bad roll. Doesnt mean anything about yi himself.

Kurt Hyzan13 votes

Bruh we had Zoe Nami Thresh Velkoz Rengar (we won this game). It's just that no champion in the game having such a bad kda is able to almost 1v4 after 2 items

Pika Fox7 votes

None of your team could realistically stop yi. Nami bubble and thresh Q arent super easy to land, and youre all squishy enough to die pretty much instantly other than thresh depending on build.

Also; k/d/a means literally nothing in aram. Most gold is generated passively, and if he died more than you then hes spent more than you. Him being 0/500/0 means nothing in aram.

Please go feed in aram and see if your kda wont matter ty/ hint/ it matters more than summoners rift.

Just played a game that says otherwise. Unless a 3k difference is literally nothing.

I would love to compare team gold between your team and the Enemy team.

Automated Riven2 votes

so first team with 61K and 43 kills. team two had 66k with 55 kills.

So assuming towers were completely even and the only difference was kills, that means the value of a kill was about, 416 gold. Seems like the shutdowns really really hurt. or it was like 5 towers to none or something like that.

Zoe/rengar/thresh/velkoz/nami are bad rolls? are you mad?

Pika Fox5 votes

Into a yi? Yes.

Automated Riven7 votes

Nami Is good into Yi. Throw bubble at alpha struck target. (this is only useful if the ally isn't braindead tho)

(Plus ulti into bubble is pretty consistent)

They had a ton of cc, shoulda been able to control yi easily. Velkoz can do the same as Nami And so can thresh. The team comps with like 7 seconds of layered cc lets me know they just played badly. Bonus points cause there is no replay.

Pika Fox3 votes

They had too much conditional CC. Yi ult + Q was enough to dodge a lot of it. Nami Q is a great secondary CC, thresh has difficulties landing Q into an engaging target. Really just comes down to how good both players are.

Nami ult was really the only useful CC here into chaining CC.

Automated Riven1 votes

When yi q's (which he is forced to do if people say throw a thresh q at him from rather close range (which yi wants btw)) the its painfully obvious where he is going to come out. Right on top of the champion he q'd into. this is essentually a cc, because you now know exactly where he is gonna be in .75-1 second. (not sure of the exact length of time but my muscle memory is solid) that leads to all the follow up cc. nami bubble/ vel knockup/zoe sleep/ thresh flay/nami ult/ Thats like 5-6 seconds of cc that can easily be layered. so ya. They fucked up.

Pika Fox1 votes

Its not always that easy. If the target dies, Yi goes back to original cast area (unless they changed that), number of targets in range changes time you come out of alpha, etc. You really want a good sure fire thing for the initial CC, so leading nami ult into CC would be the best bet.

Automated Riven1 votes

its not that simple, Your correct. I was saying, the counterplay was there. They just did it wrong.

Sleepcoma1 votes

rengar is useless without his ult and cant realistically ever kill yi as long as yi has meditate up or is near some minions to alpha strike to, but yeah the rest is a good team comp, if they built any armor items or had a tank

Yi's at a 38% w/r in challenger so... someones counterplaying him lol.

Naymliss3 votes

It's a team effort to bring a yi down(including how teamfights break down, positioning of carries and peel, warding, rotations, etc), and teamwork in challenger is vastly superior to the teamwork in anything else.

Sleepcoma1 votes

not saying yi is broken because I don't think he is, but win rate doesn't reflect how good a champion is

Win rate does exactly that actually. It's a larger sample size than someone anecdotal experience, and strips away factors like skill. The point of a champion should be to win games, good champions win games.

Sleepcoma1 votes

good players win games, not champions... if you put a mid to high diamond player in a plat game on a weak champion, they would carry the game regardless of champion choice. skill still matters because you can outplay your opponents and get ahead of them in other ways then just killing them

You made a comment that "win rate doesn't reflect how good a champion is". This is a statement to champion strength not player. So I think you've confused yourself on your point talking about putting a high diamond champion in a lower tier game. Champion strengths are good to know for climbing in an elo closer to your own, and win rates will tell you that. Also even master smurfs lose quite regularly in platinum, they will play strong champs to to try to not. Plat isn't so bad an elo people go troll shit and still carry just because they are mid-high diamond lol.

Or maybe you could stop pretending that ARAM is an accurate reflection of the regular game?

Also, you're playing Zoe and this guy has no QSS, so it's evident that you didn't even do that.
