Why is Kayn's Base Armor so High!?

Kayn has 29 armor at level 1, the second highest in the entire League (Gragas has 29.05). He's an assassin. Why would he have higher base stats than 130 other champions?

he might have a weaker armor growth. (I dont know but that is a possibility)

It would make sense for him to have high base but bad growth due to being an assassin jungler. The Early armor really helps with the first clear and the weak growth keeps his Armor at level 18 in line with other assassins.

This. Likely not a viable jungler without it. I'm sure that number isn't random. If I could page a Rioter for confirmation, I would.

Uh... I'm sure that's not the case. There are plenty of champions with way worse armor stats who do the jungle. 29 Armor makes him look like a pussy of junglers. It basically means that my main is constantly stat checked by this tool.

Nah is the role he is intended assasin/diver he is basically Diana 2.0 and because of it he will sufffer the same limitants as Diana. that kind of champions are hard to balance

Rengar's base armor is 22. Shaco's is 24.88. Kha's is 27, so that's a bit closer.

Kayn has 85.1 armor at level 18. Kha'zix has 78, which is more like what you were describing. Rengar has 73. Shaco has 84.4, oddly enough.
