Question about Yorick Support with Relic Shield

Elite4Runner··3 votes·702 views

So I know that Yorick's Q will proc the execute from Relic Shield's Spoils of War passive, which is really handy for guaranteeing a grave.

However, my question is, if he has a charge of Spoils available and one of his ghouls attacks a minion, will it trigger the execute?

No, I am like 90% sure it doesn't. I have played Yorick Support a lot and never noticed the Mist Walkers proccing Relic Shield's execute, so I am pretty positive they don't but there is a chance I could be wrong. They don't get the execute as far as I know, but they can still proc it if they kill the minion while you have a stack.

The lil ones proc it for sure I think mist maiden or whatever it's called also does, I mean they proc the gold share

Yea they definitely proc the stack, just not the execute. It's why Yorick Support is actually good lol

No I'm 100% sure that it doesn't execute you can consider me a yorick support otp almost.

I will tell you up front that I don't play nor own Yorick.

But I suspect it doesn't.

You can simply confirm whether or not it really works that way by setting up a custom game with 2v1 or whatever, get yourself a Relic Shield and run down the lane where your AI partner goes and start testing.

Right, I would do that if I could.

Unfortunately I am at an overnight job where I just watch the front desk.

But sadly, I am not able to load up League

Relic shield only procs off autoattacks. Minion damage doesn't count.

My thought was that the minions/ghoul/Mist Walkers, are technically attacking with melee attacks, .. but I understand that it is not (and is not coded as) Yorick's basic attacks.

However, I'm sure this is what you meant but I want to clarify. The execute only procs off melee basic attacks, but the gold sharing and heal is procd regardless of how the minion is killed, as long as the final hit is by the wielder of the item, and a charge is active.

Oh, right. Only the execute portion procs off of melee AAs. Sustain and gold income procs off any minion kills.
