Zed What is counter? R+one Q Target is Dead

Low Elo Nerd speaking: "You are bad, just build Hourglass!"

Mid Lane Mage Looks at price: "Only 3500 for Hourglass? I guess item 3191 will protect me against Zed's 1100 item 3134 (with 10 armor Pen +15 extra damage after killed unit) and shortly 1300 item 3155!"

Low Elo Nerd Replies: "Use Exhaust!!!"

Mid Lane Mage Laughs: "summoner 3 ??? Hahaha, Have you fought a Diamond+ Main Zed?"

On a serious note: I find Zed is at an unhealthy State. His farm range is risk free and it is difficult to poke him post lvl 3. To build an hourglass costs fortune and it is nearly impossible to face him without a QSS or Houglass. However, I enjoy the price of QSS but it is not beneficial for an AP Mage mid lane. The real issue is lack of mana regen. In order to trade with Zed, you have to bully him, but that costs A LOT of mana. I am a Diamond 4 player and I honestly have no idea how to play against a Current Zed. Prior to Preseason, It wasn't an issue. NOW, it is impossible.

I will conciser serious Tips from serious players in order to play against a Zed.

Well thing is: Zed is supposed to counter and destroy mages. As for counters, there is one simple: Kayle. Zed ulti, you ulti, no damage, no need for Zhonya. Another one is Lissandra , he ulti you ulti. No damage, no need for Zhonya. Malzahar is also good against him, he ulti you ulti. He wont rush QSS on start, you can rush Zhonya on start. Counters him whole game. Vladimir , he ultis, you pool, no damage, destroy him after pool. Scaling better into team fight Leblanc - she aint his counter, its more of a skill matchup. Whoever is more skilled wins fight. Fizz - He ultis, u troll pole, no damage, you destroy him after Annie - He ults you, u combo him, he dead Heimerdinger - He works fine VS zed too, Zed wont have enough AD to shuriken kill his turrets, and turrets lasers will zone him from farming

There are few more skill matchups like Akali, Talon, Yasuo, Brand, Diana, Ahri, Syndra, Orianna

But he also beats some champs easily like Lux, Velkoz, Veigar, TF, Azir, Viktor, Xerath.

Alright, I can smell the salt. As a Diamond 4, I'm seriously surprised that you are having any issues with zed at all. First off, zed is an early/mid game assassin champion with the sole purpose of eliminating squishes. Of course you're going to get destroyed in lane against him with most common mid lane champions.

However, in order to be really effective, he needs to snowball. Hence, the strong laning phase. Simply don't give him any kills early on. Play really really passive, and if you get to 45%ish health or lower, back off. Don't try for that one last wave, just recall by t2, and come back to lane. You'll be behind in cs, but you can always make that up.

If Zed starts roaming and getting kills, the fault either lies with you or whoever he's roaming against. It's yours if you didnt alert the other lane soon enough, and it's theirs if they didn't react to your warnings. No fault here lies with zed.

Next, people need to stop picking champions that zed is meant to kill easily in the mid lane and wonder and complain to the boards while they're getting killed by him. There are plenty of champions that stand on even footing with zed in the early/mid game and surpass him in the late game. There are also plenty of champions that are able to f*** zed up early game as well, forcing him to roam. Simply play those champions.

For example, Fizz stands on even footing with Zed. You can also play champions like Anivia, or Akali into Zed if you know what you're doing. Ryze absolutely destroys Zed in lane.

So play some champions like Ryze, Fizz, Anivia, Syndra, and you'll be fine against any Zed.

He isnt having issues with Zed, he is jungler main (nocturne, check his match history). He just stated opinion about champion.

This is how it looks like in a Diamond round. Zed will abuse you while you turret hug and fall 20 cs behind. Ok, at least you are not feeding. After first buy, he is capable of clearing New wave under 4 seconds and roam until the next wave comes in. Here are the scenarious: IF you follow Zed, he will jump from the bush and combo you down. Dead. IF you keep distance, he will advanced to the lane and destroy either top or bot. Double kill. In any case, as a healthy Mid laner, you are bound to fall behind unless babysat by the Jungler. However, that puts other lanes behind and their Jungler can easily camp other 2 lanes without the fear of Jungle presence, while Zed freely Shadows away every attempt to gank. Syndra gets destroyed. Ryze is meh. Anivia, actually i'll convider. And Fizz. Appreciate the feedback.

skill not required. a couple days ago i was playing support and their zed dived me, killed me, started walking out of tower range, ported to the wrong shadow that was directly under tower, and then casually walked out of tower range, survived with low enough health for a caster minion to 1-shot him, and backed.

huge mistakes like accidentally blinking under enemy tower and taking 2 tower shots for free would be massive for anyone else, but it doesnt matter when you're zed

Seekers gives you 30 armor through item 3134 if you get 30 cs with it. So now you only take 180 instead of 240 damage from his (300 dmg) Q, or 606 instead of 800 dmg from a 1000 damage combo. So that should help... kinda.

And exhaust should make 2/3 Zed ults on you pretty much useless too.

The issue with Zed is he's an assassin that plays like a manaless mage in lane. Due to that your efforts at trying to bully him is rather pointless since you'll go oom before his HP drops below any meaningful amount and since he uses no mana that won't ever be a concern for him. If you're playing a mage you should just honestly focus on farming and avoiding him entirely and simply survive lane phase because beyond lane phase when you begin the fighting you'll generally be more useful to your team than he will be if you and your team play properly. Of course this sometimes may mean giving up farm and etc, but that's just how it's going to be for many champions when against Zed. Another thing is being cautious of where you stand in lane, you don't want him to be able to use his Q to farm while hitting you, force him to either use his abilities to farm or on you, don't allow both to happen.

If you ever want to win lane against him then you either have to do something completely unusual and unexpected with your pick or just pick something that can actual beat him during lane. Other assassins like Talon/Diana seem to do fine then there are tanky champions like Cho as well and then there's Urgot.
